It was also part of Piper's evil personna that he cheated his stooges, like when he only offered to pay Hillbilly Jim $200/week to wrestle for him; Bob Orton even supposedly went to work for Adrian Adonis because Piper was so cheap, even after Piper turned face-- which was supposedly because he wanted his show back from the Flower Shop, and Roddy wouldn't pay Ace enough.
@AmadeusExcello True but more Jesse than Hogan i think. Hogan only recently copied Graham when he made his return to WWE with his long pants and boa look. Jesse always had Grahams look since day one
ELVIS PRESLEY?!?!?!?!?! Well....Come on?! that's these two Brilliant Fuckers trying to get a RISE out of REAL PEOPLE. Dig these Fuckers!!! TRUST ME!!! Roddy Piper & Jessie Ventura "DIG" Elvis Presley.
2 of the best guys on the mic in the same room.. it dont get any better and good god bob orton put a damn shirt on look at that belly button and that beer gut in the back good lord
How did the set not collapse under the sheer weight of awesome from Piper and Ventura being on the stick at the same time? I LOL'd @ Jesse implying that Mick Jagger is "light in the loafers"... he was a bodyguard for the Stones in the 70s.
wow. When I see this, there were only 4 guys in Piper's league when it came to promos.....Austin and Rock and the combo (key is combo) of DX. I would put Austin a bit below and the Rock a bit above. I'm old school - so not just someone who got into the attitude era (Rock is the best all around there has ever been). Bottom line, much of what DX and Austin did were great writing around them, Rock was pure talent, and so was Piper. No doubt the best heel who never won the belt ever
@BigD123945 Keep something in mind for real. 80s wrestling was great, attitude era late 90s was better. Biggest difference, they had to constantly come up with angles every week & keep it fresh. Back then, they could play a fued out over months and in come cases a year (Megapowers). Attitude era had PPVs almost every 5 weeks. What they could do to make interesting over 4-5 months has to be done in mere weeks now. Most of the shows were filler with enhancement talent vs. established
@bwashinski I agree with most of what you say. However I think its the writers fault for this. The problem with the Attitude era which of course I loved is that they had the same rivalries over and over again. Atleast in the 80s they played the feud up so when you saw it on Pay Per View it was something you HAD to see instead of something you would see on Saturday Night Main Event or nowadays Raw. Also I loved the 3 titles wish they went back to that
And as long as wrestling wants to be great, there will always be stereotypes. I want cracker ass white people, hip hop lovin wiggas (and niggas), high flying fart propelled mexicans, japanese wrestlers still pissed off about Hiroshima, Puerto Ricans posing as Iranians bombs strapped to their bodies as a gimmick, and the occasional German wrestler who feels guilty about the Holocaust.
Love Piper's shirt.

Ever notice that Jesse, Hogan and even Big Poppa Pump all stole their personna from Superstar Billy Graham?

Graham never had a big mouth as Hogan.

@gvader That's common knowledge.
