I have this album! My best friend and I heard it playing in a funky store in Old Town Sacramento some time in the early 80's and went on a two day quest to find it! She just sent me this link for my birthday. Love ya Bec!
dallaskeffer's right that it's not the original video. The original was shot inside an abandoned warehouse with aerial shots. Now, that's a cool video! The keyboard player also had the best outfit.
Wow! Wide Boy Awake I was surpise to see this 80's band posted. I agree with the other it would be great to see the music video of Billy Hyena(there is one). Thanks for posting this footage.
There is a full video, 1983 if I remember, that was playing in the clubs on Telegenics (the video loops that played endlessly). It's shot in an old abandoned warehouse and dank back alleys. Interesting if you can find it.
I read in an interview with Mooney that he felt Slang Teacher was the only really great thing to come out of WBA, so he agrees, and so do I, although Come Back Friday is pretty amazing too
I heard Slang Teacher on Sirius First Wave today & I just about cried...had not heard it or Chicken Outlaw since the 80's...I LOVE the 80's!!!

This got some airplay in NYC mainly on 92.7 WLIR (later renamed WDRE, and then back to WLIR I think)

It sounds like something from Adam's Strip album.
I didn't know there was a real video for this song (someone just mentioned it below). I would love to see that, if anyone has a chance to post it.

Anyone got any Max footage or videos? They really were something else. Kevin has a myspace under Max, although he needs to gig more.

Kevin Mooney, the lead singer, was originally in Adam & the Ants, but got sacked. The Ants influence was evident throught Wide Boy Awake's EP.

But then Adam covered "Shake Your Hips" by Mooney's next band Max

a slight rip on Adam Ant's vocal style at times.
this song makes me want to square dance.

HOT HOT HOT - both Slang Teacher and Chicken Outlaw are cheeky Adam Ants meets Haysi 80s camp - love it!

This is not the original video. I have it on an old Telegenics VHS but I can't get it to transfer well. Maybe somebody else has it out there.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
You should be too old to be using the annoying "OMG".

Unfortunately Slang Teacher never had a video . . . plus I'm pretty sure it was released as a b-side anyway . . .

I thought and still think Slang Teacher was the much better song.
