Sooo... surely there was some sort of parachute supporting the trucks so they didn't free-fall to their destruction, but I can't make it out in the movie. Maybe that canvas bag, sitting by the door, is that parachute. Anyone know?

And if they hung in a vertical chain, then why wouldn't one fall directly on top of the other when they landed? I wish I understood this better.
