The roots of the Koran come form both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible as well as other religious texts. He speaks of the Bibles unknown authors but no one knows the authors of the Koran. What is known is that when the Koran was compiled sections of it were burned as being not coming from the words of Mohammad. I prefer to follow Jesus and not the words of a minor prophet.

@elgazar99 ....Mohammad was never a prophet in the classical OT mold, he was primarily a religious warrior who authorized his soldiers to capture women for their own use...I don't recall Jesus doing that. @stereobites36 These are translations. The bible wasnt written in english. People make errors in translations and so many go to the original language to check. Either way the errors in translation are so slight that they dont change the message. The word Son carries with it the meaning of begotten and so begotten is redundant. Jesus is God come in the flesh, and thats what we need to know Jn1. And even more importantly, we all desperately need God to dwell in us and change us.

You are confused bc u dont know the purpose of the law. The purpose of the law was to lead people to trust God and not themselves, those that are filled with the SPirit are controled by God himself which is the only way we can be righteous.

The word tempted means tested. The test revealed that God is able to stand against satan without sin and this is an encouragement to all people to entrust their lives to God to live in them to also give them that same power over sin.

On the upside, he is using a king James version bible. A very archaic text but as an academic student in science with minors in history involving philosophy n religious studies, so far, plenty of the words in the kjv have perfect precise matched Heb. n Gk. translations if read word for word...quite amazing to me to b honest. For the manuscripts called textus receptus; original scrolls held in antioch at d time of heb n grk, r the scrolls claimed king James used to translate the bible in English.

The roots of the Koran come form both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible as well as other religious texts. He speaks of the Bibles unknown authors but no one knows the authors of the Koran. What is known is that when the Koran was compiled sections of it were burned as being not coming from the words of Mohammad. I prefer to follow Jesus and not the words of a minor prophet.

@elgazar99 ....Mohammad was never a prophet in the classical OT mold, he was primarily a religious warrior who authorized his soldiers to capture women for their own use...I don't recall Jesus doing that. The Hadiths also have stories in them which are quite similar to stories in the NT. Besides, God doesn't write books humans do! Enjoy your faith and I will enjoy mine.

Since the Bible pre-dates the Koran the logical conclusion is that Arab Muslims used its literary style to write the Koran... I think it was also considered unclean for anyone to touch a woman who was having her menstrual cycle....Besides my wife makes wonderful pork roasts. Christians are not obliged to follow Jewish law but may do so if they wish.

Yes, the Holy Trinity but that's not worshiping 3 people, thus Christians affirm that there are 3 persons (not people) in one essence (God). In essence, since Jesus was both man and God, he, Jesus, he deferred to God in heaven but at other times claimed to be equal God John 5:29.

@stereobites36 These are translations. The bible wasnt written in english. People make errors in translations and so many go to the original language to check. Either way the errors in translation are so slight that they dont change the message. The word Son carries with it the meaning of begotten and so begotten is redundant. Jesus is God come in the flesh, and thats what we need to know Jn1. And even more importantly, we all desperately need God to dwell in us and change us.

Jesus was tempted by the devil. We all knew God was almighty, the most merciful etc. He created Humans, Jinns, Devils etc. So how can God be tempted by the one he created? It doesn't make sense. Jesus is all about God living in you and thru you. Religious ppl dont want God in their life. Their are many christian religions too that deny that Jesus is God wanting to invade and change and take control of your life.

4. Islam is just another works system to please God by preformance. God is not pleased with our efforts but only with trusting Him to live in us and thru us. As in all of these systems:
a. God is distant
b. No one knows if they have eternal life until the judgment
c. One tries to earn salvation and trusts themselves and their own efforts to achieve it.
Compare this with Jesus' teaching:
a. God lives in u JN14.23
b. You receive eternal life when u trust Him, Eph 1.13,14

1. Jesus is God come in the flesh in fulfillment of Isaiah 9.6. His religion was no religion for he was about to fulfill the law and its requirements. But He temporarily submitted himself to the religion of the Jews.
2. The bible is perfect but it is only a tool to direct us towards God. The bible is not to be worshipped or trusted for salvation. Only God Himself is to be worshipped and trusted for salvation.
3. Christianity is the true religion because it alone guides us to be united to God.
