  • excellent player. Very bad overview. Not even a review. player is fantastic also has sd card to expand memory to 32gb.

  • hot

  • This review sucks, she has no clue what she's talking about (see some earlier comments).

  • wow lol!.. 4gb max, and 2gbs with sd card..thats funny i got my 16gb like 7month ago, and 32gb sd card in it? HMM!!!

  • ...Heard about techonologic development?

  • this bitch has no idea what she is talking about, they just picked her because she is pretty but she doesn't know what she is talking about in this review. you can control everything while it is in your pocket. if the hold button is off you access volume if it is on you access the skip and play/pause. cowon d2 is far superior.

  • i really dont think shes pretty

  • What's the problem with fingerprints? Just rub a wet towel against the screen and they'll be gone in 2 seconds

  • There is no better DAP on the market. This review from Cnet Blows. She tells you 20% of the thing this player can do. What s joke of a review, My guess is cnet is in the pocket of apple.

  • The newly release O2 is better than the D2

But the D2 is definently the best player in its price range.

  • The O2 is kick ass but Damn its BIG.

  • 52 hours of high volume music!!!! im satisfied haha! and it sounds great with bigger headphones! little beast!

  • it seems to be a first look at the player more than a full blown video review .. I tried it out audio quality is better than normal but u just can't beat the ipod's user interface ..

  • Yes the review Blows. This player is awesome. I have had an ipod and the creative Zen and the creative VM and so far the Cowon D2 is the best......People only buy ipods because people like to be told what to buy.

  • This is why I never go to C/net anymore

Terrible reviews. No mention of specs, and compares to a nomad zen. She mentions the horrible nomad zen. This player supports way more codecs. Such as flac; for serious audiophiles.

The only downside is finding accessories for the D2. Every damn retailer sells accessories only for the abomination known as the Ipod

  • agreed! They give mp3 players reviews like they've only had like 2 min to look at it.. Seriously.. They're like "ooh the design of this player is nice". when a reviewer says something looks nice.. usually means they've looked at it for like 2 seconds. cnet doesn't look at players for any of their purposes like sound and playback capability. Thats why they gave the rio karma a bad review because it was "clunky" even though back then it had the best sound and almost highest storage on the market!

  • The Cowon D2 is a great player with better sound than many professional sound systems. At the time this review was done The D2 firmware didn't support SDHC and SD cards only went up to 2GB. The D2 is now only available in 4GB and 8GB models. If your lucky you can find a 2GB model floating around. I like my D2 so much I am thinking of getting another one.

  • highest SD is 2gb. highest SDHC is 32gb

  • highest SD is 4GB, highest SDHC is 32GB

  • not anymore

  • Up to 32GB n00b! jk

Must only have been 2GB SD cards back then

  • Was a bit disappointed that the D2's sound chip does not reproduce as full/rich a sound as the iRiver sound chip. But overall, the D2 has better features than iRiver....namely much better video, way longer battery life and an expansion slot that allows you to stick in an SD card. Overall I'm happy with the D2 but was hoping the sound owuld have been as good (or better) than iRiver's.

  • I've listened to my friend's D2, and it sounds amazing. I'm not dissapointed with the sound quality at all.

The ipod is a completely different story...(it sux)

  • Just how bad is the sound on the D2?

  • The sound isn't bad at all, it's quite good actually.....I recommend it a heck of a lot better than an iPOD. But in comparison to my old iRiver IFP-790 (250 megs), the iRiver still sounds more natural. Although the D2 has a bunch of sound enhancements (filters/frequency adjusters) it lacks a bit on the mid to low range (just after the mid range frequencies). The bass also sounds a little boxy much like the Sony Walkmans did in the early 90s with their DBE bass filters.I believe D2 lacks the chip.

  • The positives for the D2 are the SD slot, finding a song if you have a lot of MP3s on it, radio (better than iRiver's...less static), great screen. I forgot to mention though that the highest it can record is 256kbps...my old iRiver can do 320kbps. I also have problems seeing the screen when I'm out in the sun. Oh yeah, the battery life on the D2 is simply AWESOME!!! Not too many MP3 players come close to 52 hours. I don't charge it very often either.

  • the sony walkman of today is up to 320kbps!!!! sick....

  • it isnt

  • *download sry :)

  • Hi, where can i pls sonload themes?

  • i got one is awesome support sdhc you can put 16gb sdhc and works fine Video playback is really good no pixels or freze.

  • i think that this is a great mp3 player
