  • This is great. You guys did an awesome job. A lot of choirs tend to rush this song, which is a real shame. I wish the camera guy had held the camera still, as that is very distracting. Haha.

  • The music was simply awesome. The camera work was a little dizzying but I truly understand anything the camera person was trying to capture. This arrangement was beautiful and holds a special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing

  • ooh i melt! exactly what i was looking for and more! careful tempo, beautiful blend. i know those amens are difficult- flawless!

wish the church-goers were as excited about it

  • Great singing, poor camera work. Thanks for making this song acapella as per the New Testament's command. Such beauty and uplifting song. RN

  • Often I think this gorgeous song is rushed. This rendition, however, is the perfect tempo. Much like my choir did it in high school many years ago. A real treat!

  • I love sharing this video with others...especially since I can still sing the 1st tenor line 40+ years after my first time singing it. Wonderful rendition.

  • Truly stunning. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • PERFECT.... Love the pace.!!!

  • Great job guys and I love the slow tempo. Wish I had been there to listen.

  • Thanks for this beathiful song. i search it for a long time and finde it hier.

    Thanks and: God bless you

  • Just amazing.

  • May God bless all from this place . Tx for video

  • What a great place that must be to sing in. The acoustics are wonderful. That is a great choir.

  • Wow good job love this song we perform it every year for our Baccalaureateto say good by to our seniors and the senoirs say good by to us its such a good song

  • who in the world is operating the camera?

    wonderful choir, btw.

  • The choir is amazing, but the person operating the camera should be slapped!

  • Yeah! Immediately!!!!

    Sit down!!!

  • On the contrary!! If he had not been taping for me, we wouldn't have a recording at all!!! So......thanks Chris!!!!!

  • What a beautiful song and so well done. I can imagine how nice it must have sounded with the acoustics !

  • Thank you for this beautiful song. its my pray evri evning.

greetings from swizerland and may good bless you

  • Beautifully done. My Alma Mater - Maryville College - uses this as their signature piece to close every concert; inviting alumni to come sing with us. I can't sing or even hear this piece without getting a lump in my throat. Happy memories.

  • High School?!! Lord have mercy of my HS Choir

  • What a great sound and control for a high school group. Excellent intonation most of the way through. Gorgeous acoustics from that chapel/cathedral. One of the best high school groups I've heard on You Tube. Most sing out of tune and have terrible blend and balance problems. You guys sound like a polished collegiate group with incredibly mature voices for your ages. Keep up the good work.

  • Oh how I wish I could sing with a group like this again. The control, the balance, the tuning, the emotion....wow. OK so I am a sap for great acapela singing, but this is just beautiful. Congratulations!

  • OMG

this is the arrangement we used w/ my high school at our Bacclaurate every year...it makes me so sad when i hear it... so beautiful

  • beautiful. i am a member of the indiana wesleyan university chorale and we end every concert with rutter's setting of this age-old benediction. this is a BEAUTIFUL setting.

  • My high school choir also performed this number twice a year. At the yearly Christmas concert, all choir alumni present are invited to the stage to join the current choir to perform the Benediction and the Hallelujah Chorus. At the end of year, all choir seniors line the front of the stage, and perform the benediction.

  • my choir is singing this song at our winterfest. and were planning to circle the croud like you guys did.

    GREAT JOB!

  • my high school choir sang this song at the end of ever concert.. omg it brings back memories. We even used to cirlcle around the church like that too..

  • Beautifully sung! Congratulations! Hearing this song reminds me of the countless times this song was sung at the conclusion of each tour concert when I attended St. Michael's Choir School!

  • this is the version that I remember from high school brought a tear to my eye Im just glad to hear kids still actually singing. great job chorus and director and thanks for the post

  • Beautiful!

  • we sung this song every sunday as benediction at the University Church of Central Philippine University. Listening to song reminded me when i was young singing in the choir. Lovely song...

  • We did this one in HS and I still have it memorized 28 years later :)

  • BEST rendition I've ever heard.

  • Your Basses and Tenors are magical.

  • AMAZING!!! lovely blend!

  • This was sooooooooooo beautiful. Too bad the cameraman/woman had to constantly fiddle with the camera. This is SUCH an awesome choir! I'm going to teach my Swiss choir to sing this next year. I hope they can do the English language justice! :D

  • Very well done. This did not sound like high school vocalists, but rather much more mature singers. The choir members will be able to do this for the rest of their lives and will make wonderful contributions to the ensembles they will take part in.

  • slightly "pitchy" in places near the beginning, but they always fix themselves (the ability 2 tune 2 one another is evidence of a very good choir). The 'Amen' section is beautiful. overall, they have an incredibly good blend and a very warm sound. this choir is not something you see every day- especialy in high school. I only know of two: this one, and my high school in Howard County MD- Oakland Mills High.

  • they take it ALOT faster than i usualy take it with my choir

  • This is my favorite arrangement of the Lord Bless! What a beautiful song! My high school choir used to sing it every year. The harmonies are out of this world! Glad someone posted this version on youtube.

  • ahh such a good song I'm singing this in my chamber choir right now it really is a beautiful song and you guys sounded really awesome nice sound and tone and blending

  • This recording reminds me of my own experience singing this song 38 years ago in high school choirs at Luther North High School in Chicago, Illinois. The tempo and intonations are remarkably similar. Thank you very much for posting and sharing.

  • We finished every concert with this version in the Danbury (CT) High School Acapella Choir and Madrigal Singers back in the 60's...one of my all time favorites. But am not sure who was the composer arranger. Do you know?

  • The composer is Peter Lutkin - this is peter lutkin's "The Lord Bless you and Keep you"

  • i agree...a perfect rendition...tone wise...

  • Gorgeous rendition...so well balanced in tone and then the added timbre from the church. Shame about the distracting camera shots - but this conductor should shoot a repeat and up the video quality. Congratulations!

  • Hey, I'm getting married in December and would like to have a small choir sing at my wedding. Does anyone know how to find a church that has this amazing reverb? It really does add to the sound of the music.

  • We sang this too, well Madrigals did, you all did amazing on this too

  • I am crying. Calhoun choir all over again. John, you have an amazing group! Even better, it's great to see that you are sharing your passion for the choral arts with another generation.

  • The reverb in that place is ridiculous...in a good way.

  • AWSUME! I ♥ it! great choir!!!

  • oh my gosh. My choir sang this exact song in the same church!! No way... and we sound just like you! great job.

  • The resonance is GORGEOUS. It bestows a very calming feeling, and the overtones. My goodness. This was PERFECT.

  • I have never heard such a good highschool choir! You guys totally blew me away. A beautiful soft but clear timbre. I used you as an example of how to sing it for my group!

  • brings back good memories! very good!

  • S. Talbot Thayer himself could not have done a finer job.

  • you guys are good. dont think we ever sounded this good singing this song.

  • We always end our concerts with this song I love this one too.
