Beginner Poi Spinning Lesson: The Fountain

The only thing that confuses me is the transtion between the two weaves if someone wants to explain to me :S

k somethings wrong with my windmill, its suppose to be 1-2, 1-2, L-R, L-R in the front but i keep going into 1, 2, L, R, so that i end up doing both at the same time kinda like a butterfly in stead of a trailing motion, any tips?

@drakenvail theres not much to change really (if i understand you right) but just try and separtate them thats all i can say really try not to let them come together...

I never understood the difference between a windmill and a fountain... sometimes i believe there are just too many names for too many moves...

the windmill is pretty much holding at the top... the fountain is going from the weaves to the windmill and back again.

This move looks much better if you don't do a Windmill. Instead complete a 4 beat turnaround but in stead of turning your body around a 2nd time bring the poi up to your head and do the last reverse beat behind your shoulder. this makes for a full 4 beat weave rotation (2 forward 2 backwards) without a windmill stall in the middle. my group calls this move "Rising the sun"

just don't do a windmill. instead go above your head in and out immediately.

first comment! woot. i'm all poi'ed out today but tomrorow after school i may just get bundled up and go practice out in the snow.

ugh! how can you practice in snow? if i went out side to practice the wind would rip my sock poi away or i'd slip on the ice. i just learned to do a fountain recently but it's nice to know i've been doing it right. they're so fun!
