  • @carbalockerfishwife But you're as equally retarded as you've made clear with your use of poor grammar and spelling.

  • The facts in this movie are at times horrible. I'm surprised the names aren't dirk, stig, and nasty.

  • the one who play paul looks retards

  • LOVE TENDER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love how in this scene john and george are playing acoustic guitars but the soundtrack they use was recorded with electric guitars! The guys who do these beatle films never pay attention to detail!

  • "Stu" reverts to a southern accent when he says "there no way I'm playing drums!"

  • "I didnt ask you to marry me, I just want to dance"

  • I didn't like the part where John cried. :(

  • she shouldve staied for the god damb tea

  • @cybercop112 ikrthey make her act like she's gonna start kissing all of them..especially Paul

  • @TheChocobread the righters of nowhere boy didnt do enough research for that movie this one is much better and i think more accurate

  • @springsteen96 yay. thanks.

  • i prefer the older wise john ._.

  • in my opinion, the guy who played lennon wan't bad, as it went on he began to look like him more, he just spoke a little quickly and sounded Irish but otherwise he did a good job

  • @meatloaf928 I noticed the same thing about Philip Mcquillan..I looked him up and it's because he actually is Irish lol..he's from Dublin Ireland.

  • Lol moony and the john dogs

  • so is that joke funny?

  • this is 4 days before my sons birthday

  • Bloody hell watch where you going Julia..

  • it makes me crying when Julia died & John sing Love me Tender....

  • Happy birthday John

  • The actor playing Paul is a dead ringer. He's really captured his expressions and mannerisms.

  • @baugergroup problem is that he looks younger than everyone else

  • The guy who plays stu is very handsome!!

  • Johns mum sounds like Cheryl Cole, and shes from Newcastle :P

  • This script is crap.

johns mums did die by getting run over but after leaving a convosation from one of johns mates.

    the storys all wrong

  • the guy who plays john in this movie i no him on facebook omfg its so cool

  • it was really sad when his mom died

  • This movie is really annoying in a lot of ways. Terrible acting, and george and John look nothing like them at all. They sound nothing like them. John is nothing like that moron trying to act like him. And they get the story wrong in too many ways. They really should have studied the facts and stories from the actual people instead of just making shit up...

    This is disappointing

  • since when did Paul play the drums in their early stages?? O_o

  • @9BeatleManiac9

Paul played drums in the latter days too. He played on Dear Prudence, and Back in the USSR.

  • i cried when the acoustic guitar started to play

  • John thought of the name! Why didn't they get their information straight....

  • what is the name of this song 00:05

  • whats the song in 5:34 with john lennon dancing with the girl? thanks for the video! peace and love!

  • the actor that plays Paul looks like James (Paul) a lot

  • The name beatles was John's idea, he got it from a vision he had of a man on a flaming pie who said ''You are Beetles, with a A''.

  • @elevatordudedave97 Ah, the flaming pie. It's a regular sighting around here. Sayrth the elevated combusting crust.."Marxist envirofascism et al and the filth of Islam is gonna kill us all, riight enough".

  • whats the name of the song that cyn plays on the jukebox?

  • Is it historically correct that Stu Sutcliffe came up with the band's name? I have been a Beatles fan for decades, and I have always heard that John came up with the name based on Buddy Holly and the Crickets. He had the story about the flaming pie and a man who declared that they would be called the Beatles (with an "a"). But, Stu? This is the first that I have ever heard of his being the originator of the name.

  • @Doleafol What I've read is that they had a huge group discussion and they wanted something like Buddy Holly and The Crickets and John came up with "Les Beat" which is obviously french and once both of those words are turned around its Beatles.

  • @Doleafol Well, it's believed that it was created during a conversation between the two...so...yeah, as historically as a lot of Beatles mythology, I guess.

  • Anyone know the song right at the beginning?

    It's great!

    Thx

  • @jgg87 midnight special

  • Thx man...kinda had already found out by myself tho, but still thank you...;)

Would you happen to know the song at 5:50 too?

    Aprecciate your help, man

    Cheers!

  • Hey guys, for those of you who is looking for Backbeat the movie, it's been posted on youtube.

  • i know i just watched it thanks

  • lol "Moony and the Johndogs" XDDDDD

  • hahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 this movie makes me crack up

  • is a good one!

  • lol george sounds like george

  • the guy they cast looks acts kinda simple .. I have the book abt johns life and the film pretty much follows it

  • wow...good thing i quit smoke so i dun ve to be afraid get hit by car..

  • Why is Paul on drums? That never happened, I thought they had Pete Best.

  • Pete didn't join the band till right before they went to Germany in 60, before that Colin Haskel was their drummer, when he left the group Paul played drums or friends who could drum played with them.

  • To be clear, his name was Colin Hanton, not Haskel. He was not the drummer for the Beatles (I know you didn's say this, but it was unclear) ... Pete Best was the "Beatles" first drummer, the longest playing drummer until Ringo, and definitely "played" with the Beatles on more live gigs than ANY drummer (including Ringo).

  • Also forgot they had a guy named Tommy Moore before Pete, he toured with them in Scotland.

  • paul did in fact drum in the early time of the group without pete best, pete joined the group not long before hamburg

  • I told my dad he did... he brainwashed me into thinking he didn't lol, thankyou

  • no they got pete before they went to hamburg i beleive paul only plaed drums for a short while and switched to guitar its acuarate

  • John is like a huge jackass in this movie

  • @XBlackElite John was a jackass in rael life....just a very rude ignoant person who made it big....and in rael life he was not actuaklly this nice.....

  • Yeah but he had to be soft on the inside. Also i always knew that he was a jackass who made it big

  • @romans52345 He wasn't ignorant, rude: yes...He has also been described as lovely by those who knew them. The important thing is for you to recognize that he was talented and human, just as human as us, and was growing as a person at the time of his death. By the way, according to all reports the majority of the time he was nice.

  • @XBlackElite John's always a huge jackass

  • @sonny101toots you dont have any humor miss "preppy" lol enjoy life enjoy the movie at least the made the bloody movie

  • @TheFungirl27 yea, um, I'm sorry, but did I do something to you? I'm pretty confused as to why i got that nasty reply

  • @XBlackElite Which makes him awesome!

  • @XBlackElite the real john was kind of.

  • john, paul, ringo and george all looked very strange so finding similar looking actors is hard

  • Yah,that is true. The only ones that looked similiar,in a way was Paul and Ringo in this movie.

  • @IsaacBassMaster

Yeah, but i think the actor that plays paul mcartney was kinda lookalike.

  • 5:33 lool jaja

  • please, can somebody tell me the name from the minute 5:47

    tanks

  • Cinthya is beautiful!!

  • 2:58 his should has laughed because when ever some one die john laughed then cryed

  • Wtf John lennon came up with the name "The Beatles". It came to him in dream as someone was floating on a burning pie said it.

  • this guy played a much better Lennon than the guy in the John and Yoko awful mini drama.

  • In my opinion,,, and it is my opinion,,, This dude played a decent Lennon... Not the best but he did do a pretty good job...

  • @Opeth619 he did

    is a good performance

  • what's the name of the song that john lennon plays at 3:45 ???

please i like that song since the first time i hear it

    thank you

  • Love Me Tender

  • Love Me Tender made famous by Elvis Presley. Although the tune is really called Aura Lee. This info was taken from Wikipedia about the tune. Aura Lee" (also known as "Aura Lea") is an American Civil War song about a maiden. It was written by W. W. Fosdick (words) and George R. Poulton (music).

The Elvis Presley song "Love Me Tender" (lyric by Ken Darby) is sung to a similar tune as "Aura Lee"

  • Can someone help me and tell the song that john and cynthia are dancing to,it is driving me mad trying to find it

  • Backbeat had better acting, but for some reason I still prefer this movie...

  • Backbeat was shite

  • This guy should not be playing JOHN

  • when he approaches cyn that was john....all the way john's mannerisms everything was there it was brilliant acting...and in the rest of the movie he was not too bad either but this part he is john lennon....

  • this is a lot better than birth of the beatles.

The music seems more authentic so far. In the sence of they haven't try to make it sound really good at the start. In Birth Of The Beatles there's stu playing I saw her standing there note perfect!! Which I doubt he could have, not to mention that he wouldn't have as it wasn't written till the end of 1962 :-)

  • I'm enjoying this.

    Flot.

  • it was filmed in Liverpool (without the fucking)

  • So true, they did and agreed! Also very badly researched, and what's with the info, it makes no sence :S

  • It's loosely based on real events. I recognize a lot of the little things here as they happened in real life supposedly. But then again, what do you expect from a 2000 tv special created for ABC primetime? God, I remember when this first aired...

  • @xxxxSHADESxxxx was deffo filmed in liverpool..ive been a beatles tour guide in Liverpool so take it from me.......this film is better than nowhere boy without doubt

  • how do i find this version of "Kansas City"?

  • The Beatles recorded Kansas City on their album "For Sale" 1964.Try that.

  • Please, does someone know what song is that sung by john, george and paul on drums? The one before Stu comes. Thank you.

  • john's mom died before he met cynthia

    ..hey, you know what's errie?

cynthia's dad died when she was 17

john's mom died when he was 17

and julian was 17 when john died

  • @scartissue94 And John was 5 when his dad left, Sean was 5 when his dad died. The only differance Alf was ABLE to return..years latter when John was world famious. But John is UNABLE to return for Sean, and Julian

  • @missgibbdreamer Julian was around 5 when John went away from him to be with Yoko, he saw his dad again years later.

  • hahahahahahahahaha! This movie is total garbage. Everything from the music to the narrative is sooooooooo cheezy. Was it made by the English? I thought they were clever.

  • The Actors are english but it was made by Americans if you want too laugh at an English made Beatles film you want to see Birth of The Beatles

  • theres nothing wrong with birth of the beatles. it could be worse. the paul mccartney could be left handed. that pisses me off

  • The guy playing Paul looks a bit like him.

  • He does, doesn't he.

  • The actual chronology of band names was The Quarrymen (obviously), Johnny and the Moondogs, The Silver Beetles, the Beetles, and finally, the Beatles.

  • The part where Julia gets killed is innacurate. John's friend Nigel Wiley actually escorted her, and felt a lingering guilt for the rest of his life.

  • i know i was confused when i saw that part

  • maybe somebody knows what is the song playing when John and Cyn dance?

  • whats the song that is john playing when he is angry??

  • the song is Love me tender Elvis Presley

  • God bless Julia Lennon, may you always be in our hearts, you two John!

  • Cynthia is such a poor, naive girl

  • have a 10

  • the john and cyn kiss is SOOO cute!

'how about Paul and the Moondogs?...or Moonie and the Johndogs?' hahaha....gotta love these characters

  • did you notice how close stu and john were??? he seemed more closer to stu than paul or george,,,,,,,notice that??

  • yeah, i did....well, at that time i think maybe he was a bit...thats why Paul said they were slightly jealous of Stu, becuase he was like the 'older, cool' guy...(nearer to John's age and also in art college)

btw- i love how Stu laughs at 5:35

  • and paul had met john and joined the band before he went to art college and met stu and when he (john) and paul first met they became very very close almost instantly there was that artisiic chemistry between the two....and when stu came into the picture paul was very jealous of john's realationship with stu.....but fourtuntly for paul stu left the group (because of his lack of musical talant)

  • also that jealousy that paul had for stu would resurface some 10 years later when john took up with yoko.....she like stu took john's attention off paul and that's why paul's dislike for yoko was so intense that is broke up both men's deep friendship and partnership....stu kind of took john's attention from paul for a brief period but when yoko came into the picture john had grown up a lot.....history shows that paul and stu had a natural dislike for each other....

  • @HBK344356 In fairness, the ONLY one who liked Yoko was John. There were mores resons then jeliously that s under stateing the facts and Beatles history

  • i think to a large degree paul wanted john all to himself......

  • yeah...i know- that is true...and the yoko/stu connection is good...

also (but kinda on a different note) John and Paul were jealous of each other...which made them work damn well together- as a kind of collaborative yet competitive thing..

  • PART 2

John was jealous that Paul could so easily come up with beautiful sweet melodies and also live it up in London's nightlife while he was never really a big 'fan' of his own music (in later interviews he simply dismisses a bunch of them!) and at the end of the day he had to go home to Cynthia, whom he didnt really enjoy anymore....and Paul was (and is still a bit) jealous that John was seen as a tough guy of sorts and more experimental and whatever...but they were a perfect match
