  • I found Comus through the greek Metal Hammer

  • So... That's how storm corrosion will sound like.

  • I found Comus through Hexvessel!! (which is a new band that every music lover should listen to)

  • I found out Comus through Opeth.

  • Man this is fucking amazing.

  • part at 9.02 is epic!!

  • Thank you, Dave (Tibet).

Also, I'm a biggest Egon Schiele fan in this universe.

  • I love the intro to this song but it loses me a bit from about 4:40. The bass is playing one thing and everything else something different. Am I missing something in the music?

  • @LyricsArFun its intentional, and makes the movement feel more uncertain. the tension is released when the chorus returns

  • Egon Schiele goes well with Comus.

  • lol @ the picture. Looks sobad. I bet the fag that drew it thought it was artistic as hell.

  • @6969LimpBizkit6969 haha you obviously know NOTHING about art.

  • @CarolvOdd With a name like 6969LimpBizkit6969, did you really expect them to know anything about art, or quality in ANY field for that matter?

  • I heard about these guys from a friend who had also introduced me to Cromagnon - if you haven't heard Cromagnon then get searching for; Cromagnon - Caledonia. Incredible stuff for the late 1960s!!!

  • music was wanting before i realized current 93 and all linked bands

  • it's fucking amazing

  • GOOD STUFF!

    =)

  • I found out about them on Current 93s website xP

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • In the song says "My Arms, Your Hearse"?

  • @emperor262626 yes. this is where the opeth album title comes from

  • @emperor262626 Mikael used them as an inspiration for his album.

  • superb and weird, i always like something weird

  • Awesome

  • I am blown away by this song it just hits my soul in that certain way and as soon as it did it just hit me with this inner happiness, COMUS GIVES ME A NATURAL HIGH ...

  • WHAT THE HELL, this band is so strange in every aspect. So unique.

  • What is this shit?

  • amazing, awesome, incredible song and band

  • Thumbs up if you heard about Comnus before Opeth

  • What is this song about?

  • @comedybenj About a psychopath murdering a girl, I think.

  • singing reminds me of devil doll!! fucking refreshing!

  • thumbs up if Comus is better than Opeth

  • @hatriarch theyre just different man. i mean, i might say comus is more original or "different" than opeth, but theres a hell of a lot of talent and soul in opeth's music as well

  • @hatriarch Rong.

  • Thumbs up if you found out about Comus through Aquarius Records

  • 2:07

  • @grapeman56 Oh shit

  • 4 years travelling in life with this tune now. Thank you Akerfeldt, Thank You COMUS

  • after every bit of ideas shared the final vocal line is freaking awesome... just leaves you there where you don't want to come back. shit... this is as powerful as beethoven or bach.

  • 2:42-3:54

    and

    8:51-10:55

The two greatest moments in any song ever written. EVER.

  • @SupperOfTheMightyOne holly vallance-Kiss Kiss

  • One of the best songs eva

  • The girl in the picture look so familiar i dont know why

  • @6x9Kamasutra it lindsey lohan

  • I found out Opeth through Comus

  • @eliottelescorielese i found comus through opeth o.O

  • ¡A huevo! Voy por un porro...

  • Thumbs up if you found out about Comus through Opeth/Mikael Åkerfeldt or vice versa.

  • @Linixion I did :).

  • @Linixion I would "double-thumbs up" this if I could.

  • @Linixion

You mean the My Arms Your Hearse lyric?

  • @lorenzobrown Nah I first found out about Comus from Mike himself, in his interviews and his blogs.

  • @Linixion No i found out about them through Cathedral/Lee Dorrian

  • @Linixion Nooooo.... uh... twas over 20 years ago - Akerfeldt was still a todler ... - and it was through Current 93, actually. So is it horns up or thumbs down? Anyway, Opeth jusat leaves me twiddlin' me thumbs....

  • @Linixion Blimey, what a terrible thought: so, if Robbie Williams claims that Skip Spence is his favorite musician, all of Robbie´s fans will then storm the shops to buy "Oar"?...

  • @6MickTravis9 Who cares? It's music, not political science. It doesn't matter how people learn about other music, just that they find new music. I'm just giving credit where credit is due.

  • Someone loaned me this album in 1972. It was an incredible experience listening to it. It really is unique.

  • I did a search on prog bands, and picked these guys off a list 'cause their name sounded less cheesy than some others. Anyway, Ilike the music fine, but I'm not a big fan ritual murder scenarios. are any of the lyrics non-debaucherous in nature?

  • @HunkyTalkenMonkey01 Not really the whole album is pretty dark

  • @HeavyAcid666 Thanks for the reply. What about their other albums? Tool's last three albums contain the sort of lyrics I gravitate towards (just to give you an Idea).

  • @HunkyTalkenMonkey01 Eh they changed their style to one I didn't find appealing so I can't really give you an honest opinion on that one

  • lured me in with the Egon Schiele painting and kept me here with this amazing song. Best thing i've heard in a while.

  • Disturbing yet intriguing :)

  • long live progressive music

  • this is so odd yet so cool sounding lol :)

Very unique style of music! Kinda surprised they broke up so quickly. Although it was the 70s, so being "different" meant getting excruciatingly low album sales :P

  • @Grunge00125 I dread to think how many albums unique bands sell these days then what with the MTV, X-factor and radio industry we have dominating music, and internet culling sales.

I suppose there are cult followings (Comus especially these years), but back then it seemed easier for bands to be free and experiment without the worry of how the public would react.

Comus are great though yeah...looking forward to their album this decade :]

  • oh wow hello

  • Mr Blobby got to number one, and yet this song is practically unknown.

What the fuck is going on in this world!?

  • @WolfmanJoeHunter If you read the liner notes of Mr.Blobbys album he does give Comus credit for inspiring him though, so it's all okay.

  • @FunBoy15 : I heard that the guy in the Mr Blobby suit for the music videos was Francis Rossi.

  • this music is fuckin sweet

  • Holy crap this is a good song. Thank god it never made it to mainstream. That would spoil the fun here.

  • @McVaggus, i agree completely, i just ordered First Utterance, and i am looking forward to the new album they are hinting at, the first new song they did sounds like it should of been what followed First Utterance

  • First Utterance is the most unique and personal album I've ever heard and sadly it was not followed by something even remotely close to it...

I know that they recorded a second album, heard some of the songs but it was like the insanity had left the building...

  • UGH! DRIP DRIP! UGH! DRIP DRIPPAH! FROM YOUR SAGGING FUCKING LIP! yeah

  • This is the greatest song ever written.

  • @bob20202020

    Signed.

  • @bob20202020 Wait! this isn't kreayshawn's gucci gucci!

    I'm kidding.

  • This is magnificent. Truly a superb track. Intense, alive and emotional. I'm gonna have to check these guys out.

  • I dont care for it but i see why people like it. Good description 'lalalalalalalalla...'.

  • Well, They're not really the same style, but you should give gnildrolog a listen.

  • to me, this represents a complete entirety of madness, complexity and beauty. there are so many elements of intelligence, hidden or obvious, in this album that it makes one of the most elegant and complete albums ever recorded. all in my opinion.

  • @lalalalakkekkshsgjh In other words, it kicks ass on many levels.

  • ohoh that sounds good but strange on schiele, what about blake's paints? "first utterance" artworks seems to something of blake's production, like the nostradamus!

  • @Thanatos1989

Roger Wootton drew the artwork on First Utterance, ball point pen.

  • MASTERPIECE

  • Indeed (-:

  • fucking excellent song
