The involved intercity minority parents who won't settle for less than success of their kid, try to get them into one of the performing public Charter Schools. For their efforts, the majority of the liberal base and the majority of the minority liberal base call them "not black" because of it. Juan Williams made an intolerant statement and got fired for it by an organization that cares more about integrity than sensationalism. It was in his contract and it's perfectly within the law.
As for his statements, they're intolerant because he associated appearance with criminality. If he'd said "everytime I see a white man in a limo, I get angry" Fox would have crucified him, but saying that traditionalist Muslims make him uncomfortable is apparently fine by them.

If a "truth" is coming from one source all of the time, then people will accept to some degree or another. You will always have your skeptics, but for many others, it will be written in stone. What is needed is complete fair and balanced viewing and listening all of the time. Otherwise, stuff like this will keep going on.

Juan Williams was only stating his feelings which are shared by many after a traumatic event like 911. Talking about this is a huge part of healing and helping relations with the US and Muslims. NPR knows this. So their actions are not only criminal in violating free speech, but NPR is intentionally destroying the Muslim community.

Juan Williams is a very intelligent person with true honesty and character. CNN obviously is disinterested in this type of honesty. Juan goes out of his way to show how WE, as a country, need to work on our perceptions and improve ourselves. And this type of honesty is RARE and shows a huge gift of GOD !!. CNN is obviously is disinterested in this type of leadership in the market place. I believe in my heart heart that he is a GREAT AMERICAN and deserves better treatment - Please hire him !!

I always find it interesting that white conservatives can speak eloquently against liberals and other than some dissension, it doesn't escalate into severe slander and labeling. Yet, when a black conservative speaks against liberal politics and issues, he/she is labeled as a "house Negro" or "Uncle Tom". I do disagree with some of his views, but at least I don't stoop that low by going to the Uncle Tom card.
