@kgmaj They weren't allowed to introduce Bruce in Smallville due to the copyrights to the character having already been sold to the makers of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. It's the same thing as in the cartoon The Batman, they weren't allowed to introduce Robin until after the Teen Titans cartoon had been cancelled. I'm not sure what the deal was with Wonder Woman, but they weren't allowed to introduce her, either, although references to both of them were made by Chloe.

i agree.. i think they should've done a spin off with Green Arrow in Star City now that's he would be moving back. they would have the whole Oliver/Chloe thing and how they would eventually have to end to lead to him and Black Canary getting together all while keeping the superhero action stuff going on. then they could have occasional guest appearances by Tom Welling or Erica Durance, possibly even for the pilot which would basically bring most Smallville viewers to the show.

This would have been good if they did his transition into Nightwing. They could show his journey from a sidekick to a hero in his own right and if they played off of Nightwing Year One, there's even a circus scene. :) The powers thing could totally be dealt with by simply having him fight superpowered baddies; then we'd have cool fight scenes/special effects and it would show how hard Dick has to work to keep up in the hero world. Of course, I'm a big Grayson Fangirl...biased...

I can actually fill a void on this. What I hear is that they're making a live action Teen Titan show, not much I found out about it though, after all it was said by the not too bright Greg Cipes who voiced Beast Boy in the cartoon. So I'm really not sure if it's true or not or what channel it would be on etc. etc. All I know is that this idea was scratched for the exact reasons you said. There isn't a correct starting point for Robin and Robin alone.

They need to fast forward to the day Dick Grayson's parents die, how they die, Put Bruce Wayne in to adopt him, just Bruce Wayne not Batman (not yet) and have the first season of Dick follow the guidance of Bruce and also Dick, alone trying to find his parents killers. Or they could just fast forward past all that...and just have Dick leave Bruce and become night-wing

If the CW would have put something like a "Smallville" for Dick Grayson then for the love triangle would have HAD to put in Babara Gordon when she was Batgirl and the introduction of Starfire (the comic version). I mean Starfire pretty made Dick into a manwhore because of the Tamaran culture of being open with emotion and casual sex. You also need to put in the Teen Titans because that's where Dick became a leader and pretty much broke away from Bruce.

This would be a cool series if Mom and Pop Grayson dies in the pilot and then Dick is adopted by Bruce Wayne (i know he was never adopted my Bruce Wayne officially it's just a word) and the series was like a live action Batman series but from Robin's perspective. And maybe in five years or maybe even less he goes off and becomes Nightwing. Oh and somehow they can work Teen Titans in there. This could be an awesome series.

Hell, make Clark show up as Superman and have him run into other Superheroes. Have cameo's of Green Arrow, Flash, Aquaman, etc.

I do agree though with the guy about Flash, Cyborg or something...although Aquaman was tried, didn't work...Flash we had Barry Allen back in the 90's with that show that lasted one year, would Bart Allen be able to exceed that? Perhaps with todays CGI advancements.

@Funnyredtie Very plausible because he's out on his own and he's yet to work out the nuances of a solo hero, and for a stint in the comics, he drops the costume, and in extreme emergencies, Batman can come in in a ninja style blur and a flick of a cape, and when Dick comes to, all you see is a Batarang, and the confliction between Dick's appreciation for Batman, and his frustration as to how he totally failed, and that over the course of the series, can rely less and less on Batman.

- Smallville started to suck after season 3, it's about Damn time it got cancelled!

- Money! that's what it's all about Ppl at Warner bros think that just by hinting at any character or anything remotely related to Batman, they'll immediately have a hit. smallville sucked after episode 1. its always been too "campy" like a "friends" or "seinfeld" show. the writing is terrible, and while watching the show i can always predict whats going to happen.

and for everyone who might read this, when you watch the show, look out for the "half shadow face". the lighting director always has the character's faces with half of it in 100% black shadow. its kinda funny.

aw come on! you gotta admit that the whole premise of the show was to do away with the red and blue tights and cape, and still show superman in the lead role... to that effect setting the show on smallville before Kent ever became superman was smart... WBros. don't have the nuts to make a superman show in all it's glory (and no, to me The adventures of Lois and Clark does not count) so I think that smallville is the best we're gonna see away from the big screen and aside from animated versions!
