  • "i was like, hey mum, this is andy warhol... and i didnt get 'the nod' after that, because it was really uncool."

  • this song will never get old

  • @NotAFanOfLogins oops- these SONGS will never get old :)

  • The Clash are brilliant and timeless. I'm 17 years old and I don't care for the popular music of today. I started learning guitar at 14 I recently started an Alternative Rock band called 'Visanti'. Check us out.

  • I was there too! One of the best times of my life! Oct 12, 1982 my first concert was 4 days before - Van Halen at the Garden Diver Down tour. After these too I was spoiled!

  • I was there!

  • There is NO god, The Clash made themselves!

  • it was a life changing experience

  • if anyone reading this is under 20 yrs. old,PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE SHIT MUSIC YOUR GENERATION IS PUTTING OUT.STOP BUYING IT!!! LEARN TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT.THE CLASH WEREN'T THE GREATEST MUSICIANS.IT WAS THEIR ATTITUDE AND CONVICTION TO BELIEVING IN THEMSELVES AND DOIN WHAT THEY WERE DOIN...AND NOT GIVIN A SHIT WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS!!! SO PLEASE DO SOMETHING,MY EARS ARE BLEEDING EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO THE RADIO,UGH!!!

  • @towncarguy04 will get on that right away

  • 1:34 That'

    s me at 17!

  • loveeeeeeeeee clash

  • "mum this is andy warhol"

  • I was here and they blew the who off the stage

  • at 0:49 did he say "we ain't got no football they're on strike"?

  • RIP Joe!

  • it was epic

outdoor show at night in Oct. in NYC

    that doesn't happen too often

    ("there's no football....they're on strike!!")

  • My older sister was at this show. She got interviewed on the local NYC news. She was more of a Who fan, but she loved the Clash as well. She bought me a Combat Rock tour t-shirt. I was 8 years old. I wore it for years, until it fell apart. Still have her LP copy of Combat Rock. To this day my sister gets respect for sparking my lifelong love of The Clash. Thanks sis!

  • @djhagler

    YOU R WELCOME!

  • I was there, and they ROCKED.2 hear MJ say he didnt think warwhore thought he was cool coz he introduced his MUM 2 the faggot,sucks.Mother-fuck andy warhol in his faggotty dead ass,FUCK HIM,man,MOTHER-FUCK HIM...Glad I was there.THE CLASH ,THE WHO, FUCKIN RULED THIS NIGHT(Johansen too!!)!!!ROCK N ROLL HISTORY RIGHT HERE KIDS,FACT!!! Where is Andy Warhols work these days?In the garbage...that fagott ass, fuck him in his no-talent,dead and stinkin' worthless no good ass!

  • @towncarguy04 Wow, stop posting when you're drunk dude. And I would have loved to be there.

  • @towncarguy04 You have no respect for real art. Andy Warhol was fantastic making ironic statements about popular figures of the world today. Irony and playfullness is part of the punk movement anyway so they're similar. I agree however, The Clash and The Who, both incredible bands, playing on the same night, if I had been there, would have been one of the best nights of my life, always. Just don't dis-respect art that you don't understand.

  • @worldofrorcraft Hey sonny-boy,tell me WTF to do?Warhol was a douchbag and it is you who do not understand.Dissing a guys MOM isn't cool at all,anywhere/anyhow.WARHOLE SHOULD HAV BEEN HUMBLE AND SAID "HI",at least.Go to the Met in NYC if you want to see gr8t art,Warhole is an amatuerish douchbag compared to the CLASH.It is you who needs an education Sonny, and I'll bet you'll get it one of these days.

  • i was at this concert...smokin.....to bad there last date was cancelled in the late fall at BONDS at times square...i may never recover.

  • Not sure what Mick Jones meant about not gettin the nod, but if he meant andy warhol thought he wasn't cool cuz he introduced his mother to him, fuck andy warhol's candy ass!!!!!!! Mick Jones has more talent in his dick than andy warhol ever had!!! I really hope that's not what Mick meant cuz that would suck!!!! Mick Jones has nothing to worry about ever when being compared to another artist!!! That guy wrote some of the best songs EVER!!!!!!!

  • notice they never show you the entire stage from the front, there was a gigantic WHO written there

I just love how NY got the bands that made the passing from the '60s to the 70's (The Who) and from the '70s to the '80s (The Clash) in a single night; I would have killed to be there XD

  • God we miss you, Joe Strummer.

  • The Clash live at Shea Stadium is an amazing live album

  • I have Paul Simonon's Ampeg head and bass cabinets and matching hot pink Clash road cases they bought from Mannys NYC that are from this show...He sold it to me when he lived in LA while he was in Havana 3AM.....

  • 0:52 the boy is Mick Jones lol

  • Fucking love this album

  • I was at this show.me and my dead buddy joe!thought the clash just might have blown the who off the stage until the who came out and cranked it up!awesome show, david johansen,a guy I know from nyc, opened the show(he dont even remeber bein there)and all i can say is wow,a one of a kind night.once in a lifetime that was.2 b fair, the who didnt let the clash use the whole PA system,so they weren't as loud and were getting drowned out at times by the crowd.

  • Awesome

  • No Topper, No Clash

  • @PBANDSNOW oh come on...if you can;t have a Lamborghini, take the Morris Minor or hop on the bus

  • @PoireauMan68 ok, good point but terry chimes wasnt very good, and by 1983 the clash were destroying itself from the inside, and thats the same time that Nikki's drug use was noticeable, so when the clash started to die, they tried many things and sadly firing Nikki for drug addiction was one of them, so in my mind what i said was true

  • Damn Straight !

  • hmm but the clas hated religion!

  • That was my first concert. My two favorite bands at the time, The Who and the Clash. Amazing show. Got about 50 feet from the stage, almost got crushed it was so crazy with concert seating.

  • you have no F idea how much i envy you man.

  • Im sorry I missed certain reunions and shows. Saw Sabbath but never with Ozzy. Never saw the Velvet Underground reunion, Lou Reed perform Berlin, Van Morrison perform Astral Weeks, but I did see a few Zombies do Odessy and Oracle. Saw Floyd, and Waters but not together. Springsteen, but not till 85. I saw the Ramones, Dead Boys reunion. Just see good bands while they are around. Try to see some version of the Who, Stones, Floyd, Kinks, Springsteen, Dylan if possible. How long can they live?

  • R.I.P. Joe , yer a legend ........

  • RIP JOE ! we miss you :( Great Video!

  • they need to make a fuckin dvd of shea stadium!

  • None of the members of the Clash were bi-sexual....

  • English bands have always been so much better than American bands.

  • thats the most wrong thing anyone has ever said

  • I agree, the Brits are innovators!

  • You are so right! These jagoffs are way to good for tiny minds to understand. Hamburger.

  • No Joe wasn`t gay. He was married but according to a book written by the last guitarist in the clash, Vince White, Joe was bi sexual. The book`s called The Last Days Of The Clash.

  • who the fuck are you to say that. you need to die. london calling is like the fucking punk anthem.

  • FUCK U YOU WANKER FUCK

  • Another group from british "artist" hit factory,..

  • why dont you "celltone" queers fuck off and earn a living with an honest job! wankers!

  • As much as I love the English, I'll never quite get what a "wanker" is and how it's insulting. I find it too funny of a word to be offensive

  • think of it as you calling someone a jerk off.

  • I still don't find that offensive, there are much worse things that I've been called. Heck, since elementary school...primary school...uh. I don't know what it's called in other countries. Since I was around 6 years old we've all been called much worse.

  • Different cultures will have a different tolerance of language. You US guys seem to throw "bastard" around a lot which, when hearing it crop up in the sitcom Friends was a bit shocking! However, I wouldn't jokingly call an American a cunt like I could an Englishman.

  • Very true. Good point. Though I do hate our culture, I hope you don't stereotype us all in that manner.

  • Haha this video is so great.....I just got the official celltone for it 2 at DownloadAnyTone. com if u want it _____

  • Shame Topper never made it - shame

  • If u like this song as much as I do dont forget to get the official ringtone for your phone at DownloadEveryTone. com ..

  • which song are you talking about?

"Should i stay..." is a commercial song and silly song. listen to the lyrics.

The next one "carreer opportunities is clever"

Not only the words, music as well.

  • I saw The Clash on this tour in Seattle at the Kingdome, opening for The Who in 82. Saw Joe Strummer's version of The Clash in 84 in Seattle at the Paramount, that was the last rock concert I ever went to.

  • CBS did a special on it at the time.. if thats any help.

  • Does anyone know where to see any footage from shea other than 'should i stay or should go' or 'career opportunities'? thanks.

  • Complimenti molto bello * * * * *

    By Ery

  • Paul Simonon was gorgeous!!
