It might not be a result of bad owners. My sister has a rescue mutt that was pulled from the side of a highway to the shelter, where they got him. He's never been abused or provoked, but the dog is VERY temperamental and can turn on you in a second. He tried to bite me because he was sitting on my lap and didn't like how I shifted. I did NOTHING to provoke him, he's just a mean dog.

One of my chihuahua acts like this towards me. He actually got me once. I think he was abused previously, he was 2 when we got him from a rescue place. He acts this way.when ever he does something wrong and I try to instil some discipline not by hitting by telling him no and go lye down he will act out. He begs at the table alot and used to pee on things. My husband won't do it so I'm the bad guy. My other one is as sweet as can be and well behaved and just an all out sweetheart.

Well i noticed someone on the couch, so i imagine that's why he is acting that way.He doesn't want the person with the camera to get near the person on the couch.I personally try to discourage this behavior. I have a 6 mnth teacup Chi and he is fiesty if i am holding him and someone comes near, but if i have people over or i am visting someone then i always put him on the floor and then he is friendly.He is sooo super sweet to my husband and me.
