I have been watching the Miss Universe Pageant uninterrupted since 1975, without disrespect to the Filipino fans of the pageant this is definitely not the best opening number, in my opinion the song was not as catchy as other opening numbers, two opening numbers that I can remember were a lot of fun and made them classics: 1992 in Thailand,Sawadi and 1993 Mexico City, Viva la Noche, this last one is my all time favorite, the mexicans threw the roof off with an excellent opening number.

If you compare this presentation to other years, this is might be better because the song and the choreography fit to the emotions needed to the contest. It's very synchronized and well practiced. Compare to others though beautiful but not well choreographed....

All MU openings are more or less boring. And this is no exception, the song is if anything, worse than usual. That everyone here seems to rave about it, it's just because they are from the Phillipines and cannot see what bad taste it is to heap roses on anything from their own country.

Gloria Diaz and Marg Moran are 2 great ladies though...
