i have never and i never will watch this film cause there are loads of things wrong with it.

I Understand you have to hire a child to play Celine's childhood but hire the Actual Celine Dion to play the adulthood cause its about her life.

Plus Celine Dion started by singing French songs she started to sing English songs in 1990 or so.

Reading 'My Story, My Dream' by Celine would be much better than watching this movie. They butchered her story and they didn't acknowledge her French-English crossover. That was crucial to her career.

The lady who sang the older Celine is a terrific talent. Must have been a great honour to be asked to sing those songs. She did a great job. Her name is Trish O'Brien. With regard to the song 'Going Higher' this song as previously stated was written especially for the movie but unfortunately cannot be released as a single for those who like it. Contractual issues i'm told. Shame really.

Although the movie was inaccurate with the timeline, I think the director purposely did this so that the songs could match what was going on in the movie. Although the movie could have been better, for a low budget film, I think it was great. Christine Ghawi did a great job portraying Celine. The accent was right there :).

Personnally I didn't see anything or heard things that awful in the movie, even if I thought it was not as real as it could have been or in the right order(with many mistakes and all). It's a movie, even if not good, that doesn't try at least to make up bad things that didn't happen only for dramatic purpose I thought. Anyway I think we agree it should have been better and that it's not a good movie, especially for fans who know better.

If u read her biographies which r very candid,some of the parts in the film r not in the book.That 2me suggests they put that in.Example-the day she went2 sing 4Rene at 12,in the film,it suggests her mum said"you'll be fine,just don't show ya teeth"now if ur a fan n no her life story,her mum never said a thing like that.Also even tho her mum was angry at Rene when thier relationship was out in open,at no point did her mum approach him n ask if he is "touchin" her daughter?These are wrong!!!

Those things are not very important to me. They have do make up dialogues between people in the movie. All dialogue between them are not in any bio anyways. Of course, they romanced the whole thing as they wanted. That's why anyone should never take everything in a movie to be the truth, the whole truth. It's a movie loosely based on her life and about their private conversations, only them knows, not the fans, nor the movie makers.

Canada is big country you know. I was very disapointed also. Often I listen to english canadian biographies about Céline and things that are said aren't accurate. You were offended about some dialogues, me I was very offended about all her french singing,french hit songs and learning about english very late in life being ignore in the movie.

It's not THAT bad, everything they told actually happened, anyway most of it. It's just not in the right order, dates,events are mixed up and Céline's carreer before she's 20 well, what can I say,the songs aren't right and she didn't even speak english at the time so..not to say that they didn't talk about René's cancer and RC's birth(two of the MOST important events in Céline's life)..But of course I understand you, as a fan I couldn't wait to see it either!:) Hope there's a better one someday!

I meant I knew about all important events and sequence and dates and those kind of things, I witnessed it. I love Céline since day one and this movie was made to be sell internationally obviously. I understand how you feel. As you said ealier, Céline nor René were partipant in this movie. And you must know that they choose not to make it available in Québec in French, it's obvious why to me. They would have had SO MUCH criticism and anger from fans and medias for all those mistakes in her life story. Finally, I think we feel the same about this movie. It's not accurate and would have benefit from a better research. Just more tolerant about dialogue because I know it's always made up.
