  • these days you have to find your music, its not so hard because of the internet, you can find alot of black music that isnt readily promoted, i'll give you another video today, lol

  • Yes! Too much bling and no more musicians and musicianship... :-(

Anyway, we still have records from the past to listen to... ;-)

  • i'll give you a video too lol

  • Does anyone know what year this is from? It's awesome!!

  • 1976!

  • Man, Bootsy must be the coolest man to ever wander the earth. And the music is awesome! The bass, the horns, the drums.. Gaah!

    GIVE UP THE FUNK!

  • If this don't get you movin'...you might wanna check your pulse, you could be dead. Everything is funky here, and like someone commented below..."even a funky tambourine"

  • This performance made it onto the "Back in the Day: The Best of Bootsy" CD.

But on the CD, they cut out Fred and Rick's solos. Good to see the original unedited performance!

I thought I heard some of Fred's "All Aboard the Soul Funky Train" riffs in his solo too.

This song hits another level after 9:24. I got whiplash from boppin my head.

  • Didn't this version but it sure is FUNKEEEE!!!

Maceo delivers, as usual and the horn riff is worked inside out!

I'm a white guy who LOVE Black music and it pisses me off to no extent when I see today's Black music: bloody hiphop!!!

    C'mon! Bring the Funk back!!!!!!

  • you need to stay away from the black white music thing, nearly all our music today, has Afro American roots. leave that shi.. to politics, and f..unk to the funkified psychotic nutbuster. If my name isn't funk, im going to die a punk. lol

  • You're right mate! All I meant was that music has no colour and no boundaries. One can be white and French and appreciate music made in America by black blokes.

    Be funky!

  • OU YEA! FUNK RULEZ!!

  • Woo, they gave Rick a solo! Token white guy represents! /proud

This is the best clip on You Tube. Bootsy's charisma here is at its peak, the Horny Horns never sounded better, everything is just dynamite. Plus you get to see Fred's bare belly!

  • Y'ALL READY TO GIVE UP THE FUNK!!!
