I went out to buy conga drums, I tried the Meinl Marathon, which are exactly the same as Conte drums. They also rang way after the tone, really upset me, because they are so beautiful. I saved a little more money and went with the Matadors; which sound better.
Excuse me for my bad english, but i can´t understand why you have 3 of your videos of your 6 with the same cuestions (ringin LC congas), and no one with yourself playing, and i don´t mention your slaps and strokes in this video looks, i guess you don´t haved so much practice time. I have the same congas, also LP and Remo congas, and LC congas are defintly the cheapest quality congas i ever buyed, and i play over 20 years latin percussion.
@congero73 videos are related to one forum discussion where ppl tried to figure out why its such a bad overtone. And its truly shocking i didnt have a good technique as a starting beginner.....i've been exceling in all other interest of mine in very second i started....
get some foam or bubble wrap about the size of a deck of cards and tape it to the inside of the drum shell near but not touching the head... it will dampen the ringing so you can enjoy your drum.
