Its the Colorado Buffaloes' stadium. This was a picture from the intro when Michigan played Colorado in 1996. Michigan won the game 20-13.

ABC basically kept revising this and revising until and made different versions since they went to this one in 1994.

I noticed that over the years when abc sports was still used. I'm pretty sure they used this exact theme from 1994-1996. It was from 1997-2005, where they played a heavily modified version of this theme. They played many revised versions of this from 1997-2005, but still used tyhe same basic theme which was a heavily modified version of this from 1997-2005 before ESPn on abc took over.

Great theme! Brings back memories of Northwestern's 1995 season when they won at Notre Dame (started their downfall), at Michigan, and at home vs. Penn State. We lost the Rose Bowl to USC, but for not being a powerhouse it was still our greatest season in modern times. Pat Fitzgerald (star linebacker) has done a solid job at coach. Go Big Ten!

That sure was a great Northwestern team. If it weren't for a botched snap on a punt against a good Miami of Ohio team, they would have been undefeated at 11-0 going into the Rose Bowl.

Thanks Wolverine for your good sportsmanship. Michigan beating Ohio State in 1995 sent NU to the Rose Bowl (NU was off that final week) - the TV broadcast of your game showed NU players watching the game, cheering for Michigan (not a sight you see every day).

You've got one hell of a quarterback in Forcier. I will cheer for Michigan in any non-conference game for the standing of the Big Ten as a whole.

After watching greatest seasons:1995 football on Big Ten Network, I thought to myself that Notre Dame's downfall started with that loss to Northwestern. They still had a good year but the next they declined a bowl game and they've struggled just to beat midlevel teams ever since. I really wish Notre Dame would swallow their pride and join the Big Ten.

I think you could even make a case the Wildcats have been a better team than the Irish since 1995 (which is my lifetime of following sports).

I grew up on abc college football in the mid to late 90's. I was only 5 when this theme was played and didnt know jack about football, but it always felt like a big game when I heard the theme.

I like the one from 1990-1993 the best.  The theme from '97 through '05 was great too. Now they have AC/DC and assorted crappy pop music.

I found it on Limewire. I think I got lucky one of these days because I was never able to find it anywhere else. I uploaded it to Rapidshare a few months ago.
