which igniter did you use?? and where did you get it?? im trying to build a flame thrower that is built into a glove. kind of like the pyro in the xman movie. so far i have it completed but i still have to light it initially with a hand held lighter. if you could let me know how you kept the flame going at a low rate that would be great too. thanks :D
Dude! Awesome work. I've been mucking around with a similar idea - but getting the ignitor has been the hard part. At one stage I had a servo controlling an arm that had a disposable camera flash on it that sparked and ignited the flame, but it was too unreliable.
Could you link to a gas burner like the one you used?
@HardwareHeresy: sorry, no. it took a lot of trial and error to cram the hardware into that specific pumpkin, and a ton of hotglue to fix it up. i've bolted one servo and the torch to an aluminium L-profile, same with the spray deo and the second servo. everything after that was just a lot of trying around until it all fit in. mostly depends on what kind of pumpkin you can get...

p.s. it sucks that you can't post anything resembling an URL here. and the comment system only says "error, try again". sheesh.
