Exodus 21:20-21, This scripture pertains to man's beginnings, which their enemies were caught and turned to slaves, for man power, opposed to being killed; but if kept, they were to be treated with dignity and fairness. Since the beginning of time there were slaves, as slaves were not from their culture. Even so, people make judgment calls without understanding the history of man. Of course today, it's illegal to have slaves but it wasn't until President Lincoln came along to free our slaves.

You pointed out that "Slavery was considered acceptable, up until President Lincoln came along," and you cited a bible fragment, and the bible approves of slavery, telling you it's OK to murder your slaves, as long "as they live a day or two after" you beat them, exodus 21:20-21. We are merely pointing out the fact that morals advance and evolve as societies' behavior are noted to be inhumane, or uncivilized.

Every kingdom in those day's were usually at war with one another, those they captured were made to do their manual labor, slaves as it were. We were never at war with anyone, the blacks were brought here against their will, and we turned them to slaves, illegally! It wasn't until Lincoln that he set them free as should be.

The Divine Right of Kings was based on Christian ethics/beliefs. American's rejected that god and made up a new one that believed in individual rights so they could reject King George.

Also, Romney lies when he says he believes in divine providence. He already ran for president once, and lost. Obama won that election. So why is Romney running again?
