janeane is one of the worst of the "B" list celebs..her opinions are not grounded in fact you can tell because she has no valid points she has to resort to atacking people she doesnt know . it is totaly clear to anyone with an open mind. the left has run out of valid arguments. they are blind to the truth.
Garofolo (a closet lesbian) was seen on the floor in a bathroom in a Jersey dive with her mouth on the base of a toilet sucking wildly and moaning intermittently.
Women finally after several had gathered in the ladies room pulled her from under the stall and she was mumbling something about another "tab" and was taken to the hospital where she was last seen.
A dyke at the Jersey club said later that she had been the butt of a triangle breakup and that she was 'getting over it"...

Ya know, I like JG a lot, and I think people like her could do a lot to heal the red/blue divide in this country if they focused on that. But my problem with this video is her HORRIBLE histoical analysis: The tower is a medieval fortification, not a monument to the empire. As for Big Ben she's closer to the mark, but I think she'd be enlightened by reading the work of Marxist historian E.P. Thompson: European use of time as ordering society (and work) was present long before the 19th century.
I think she rambles a bit (based on her other "Disquisition" musings) but she is funny; I like her bit about Helen Keller. "Helen, take a break..." ;p
Politics is the tool of the devil, as Bob Dylan once said. I think it's detrimental to an artist, and I really believe Janeane to be a real artist (Rollins, no).
I think of her as an atress more than a comedienne. I think she's underrated as an actress, and overrated as a comedienne.
I honestly haven't heard much of her stand-up, so I couldn't say which she is better at, though I totally agree that she's way underrated as an actress; a lot better than the majority of "A-listers" out now...
The main reason she's a low C-lister now is that the projects she chooses range from mediocre to downright abysmal. She can't pick a script to save her life. She's done that her whole career. Most comics do terrible film work.
Yet, there is a quality she has that you can't explain, a magnetism. She still has it. I think that's why people liked her standup. It wasn't very good, but they liked her because she's so magnetic.
I think her outspoken views in politics sort of polarizes her, unfortunately. It's true that no one wants to hear what celebrities have to say about meaningful issues, because most (not all) carry this air of entitlement.
I would love to see her in more films, good ones, you know? Instead of the same dozen actors (who are very talented, but...)

She's very polarizing, but it isn't just her politics. Some have said that she's gorgeous and talented, others think she's butt ugly and a hack. People have a hard time dealing with her, I'm not really sure why. She's immensely intelligent, which scares both men and women. That might be it.
I would like to see her in good films. She hasn't done too many of those. She is a great actress, despite the bad choices.

Didn't Grover Norquist get tax rates lowered so rich people like Janeane Garofalo now pay a lot less in taxes? The guy talking to her off camera kills our suspension of disbelief though. It's supposed to just be her ranting in her apartment.
The lighting is too bright though. The lighting scheme Henry Rollins uses in his Teeing Off rants is far superior.
They are also building statues of Reagan in former communist countries. Better Reagan than Stalin, Janeane.
The camera guy was helping her along because she was so ill prepared (and probably on one of her "drug cocktails" that she talked about in one of her other segments).
How about an anatomically correct statue of the underrated actor Long Dong
Silver to be placed beside the Washsinton Monument?? A truly great American.

It's true: good-looking, intelligent people are very intimidating; maybe because those are two qualities that are highly regarded?

Surprisingly, they're not highly regarded. They should be, but most people are intimidated by intelligent people, and do their best to undermine them.
She's also difficult to deal with at times. Immensely intelligent people can be like that. On top of that, she's a real artist.
She also has had substance abuse problems in the past, so she has baggage, so to speak.
