  • Cute. Sony should have thrown that in US DVD.

  • this proves he walks in the sea not swiming

  • @TheEspinosauro he actually does both although in the Showa era of Godzilla films, he's mostly shown walking. However in the Millennium films there are actually two scenes in which he is swimming underwater

  • OK!!

  • constipated yogi the bear much godzilla -_-

  • @tobi3098 LOL right? xD

  • OK!!

  • The Toho Are people in Drugs.

  • Why is it that Godzilla calls him Angilla? I know it's the original name, but it was changed to Angirus after the second movie. Not only that, but Angilla sounds retarded.

  • @ROOKI3LINKX Because the Japanese language has multiple ways to pronounce words when translated to the Roman alphabet.

  • @RocStarr913 I know that, but it was officially changed after the second movie to Anguirus, but they don't act like it. That's why I'm wondering.

  • @FortuneAndGlory94

LOL!! THAT'll EXPLAIN THE HURRY UP... LOL!!

  • "Come on. There's a lot of trouble, ahead."

  • can somebody translate what this says

  • @unviversalyhappy

    "Hey, Angarus!"

    "What do you want?"

"Something funny going on, you'd better check."

    "Oh yeah"

    "Hurry up!"

"Hey Angarus, c'mon! There's a lot of trouble ahead! We must hurry!"

    "OK!"

  • can somebody translate what this says plse

  • OK!!

  • HURRY UP!!!!!!! Godzilla is bossy

  • @FortuneAndGlory94 Actually he's saying:HEY ANGURAA!!!! GIGAN IS MESSING WITH THE FAMOUS CITY TOKYO! WE NEED TO FIGHT HIM! HURRY UP YOU STUPID SLOW POKE!

  • the funny thing is that their speaking english idk if it was edited for the american version

  • Bet the Director's 10 year-old son suggested it.

  • i like how godzilla tells anguirus to hurry up like 3 seconds after telling him whats going on.

  • Godzilla is too bossy!

  • Wow. Looks like somebody got a hold of my region 2-print International version. I edited this print together and made the disc it came on. Shocked to see it turn up, actually.

Anyway, the reason Godzilla and Angilas talk is because the film was made like a comic book. If you look at the production design of the film, it is heavily influenced by manga. And so they threw in the little gimmick with the speech bubbles.

Also, Godzilla does not say "You're embarrassing me." It's "Let's hurry!"

  • It sounds like Barney charaters if they were 300 years old.

  • subtitles:

    godzilla- "hey anguras!"

    anguras- "what do you want?"

godzilla- "something funny going on, you better check!"

    anguras- "oh, yeah"

    godzilla- "hurry up!"

    next scene:

godzilla "hey, anguras, come on! There's alot of trouble ahead!"

(what godzilla said next i couldnt hear)

    anguras "ok!"

  • This is a fuckin' joke, its sounds like someone gargling and talking at the same time...

  • it's bad! it's awful! it's terrible!

but still, it's sort of funny though...

  • Godzilla might want to lay off the cigarettes for a while.

  • i think it was a combination of the usual badly-timed dubbing...the audio 4 the godzilla roar & such being somewhat f'd up...& laziness on tohos part &/or universals part,as well...that all played a part in it sucking as bad as it did...imho,anyway...

  • It's nice, but what's wrong with the classic Godzilla roar? They couldn't resist turning it into a six-year-old playing with an oscillator?

  • so im confused on what godzilla says after he says "theres alot of trouble ahead"..it sounds like he said your embrassing me...LMAO

  • @BaltimoreFan08 Yes it's totally true. My brother and I are the FOREMOST EXPERTS on Godzilla on the Eastern seaboard. And yes he say's " You're embaressing me" What he really said just doesn't translate that easy. So says the Lone Wolf.

  • Oh dear god this is awful! What is sad is that I have always been able to tell what they were saying despite the horrible dubbing. Trust me. It doesn't add anything to this shitty entry to godzilla franchise. I feel sorry for Gigan. He was one of Godzilla's more awesome enemies, but except for Final Wars, he was never used in a serious Godzilla film. And if anyone calls this serious, then I will type out the dubbed speeches in revenge.

  • i bet 2 drunk guys came into the studio at 3 in the morning, recorded there voices and put it in the film before it became public and thats why anguirus and godzilla have fucked up voices

  • so, they actually said "theres something funny going on you better check" in the real movie? that's not what i remember.

  • @EdgoIsGo

I saw this in the 80's when i was 7 an i remember that line being in the movie... back when they actually used to play Godzilla in the U.S.

I remember just seeing them talk, despite how campy it is this is one of my favorite an fun G-Films to watch.. just saw it an Several more G-films on Hulu.com

  • Anguirus only knows OK

  • Wow.

    Rather pushy isn't he.

  • @sandsiblings2 who argues with Godzilla?

  • "OK!"

  • 6 Godzilla villains for their ass kicked by Godzilla and Anguirus.

  • this is genius.....the broken English is a nice touch also...

  • I LOVE THIS SHIT!!! lmao!!!

  • I think it's funny that this is also the first movie where Godzilla bleeds, and quite heavily too

  • they were talkin i think because the tape was understood by the monsters and had its own language encoded in it so they wanted viewers to hear it which in result lol made godzilla and anguirus talk..when i saw this when i was younger me and my dad was shocked that they spoke i even rewinded it

  • @bheemabachus cause smoking was cool back then and the dubs were in NY

  • i love this movie but i still dont understand why`d they have them talk it seems so stupid and pointless

  • @ricksvidsinc

They were probably stoned when they wrote it

  • For some reason, Godzilla reminds me of Yogi Bear.

  • (SCENE ONE)

    Godzilla: Hey, Angilas!

    Anguirus: Whaddya want?

Godzilla: Something funny going on. You better check!

    Anguirus: OK!

    Godzilla: Hurry up!

    (SCENE TWO)

Godzilla: Hey,Angilas. Come on! There's a lot of trouble up ahead! Let's hurry!

    Anguirus: OK!

  • @b6gm6n In this one Minya talks.

  • Damn Godzilla's bossy.....

  • I think Godzilla may have had a little too much to drink

  • @GoldenCenturion

I think he just smoked a joint an had a sore throat, i hope i wasn't the only kid that thought this was awesome when he was younger LOL

Still one of the best scene's in Godzilla vs Gigan, besides the ending fight of course.

  • i cant believe they actually had speach bubbles n y talk in the first place. y couldnt godzilla n anguirus have a normal monster conversation.

  • @godzilla2845 "y couldnt godzilla n anguirus have a normal monster conversation."

    You mean like this?

    Godzilla: ROAR ROAR

    Anguirus: ROAR

  • @WhiteJarrah yea. gigan n megalon were supposed to talk like dat like for 2-7 minutes but they eventually cut it out

  • The best i can translate it is:

    Godzilla:Hey angilas

    Angilas:What

Godzilla:Theres something funny going on,u better check

    Angilas:OK

    Godzilla:Hurry up

    While they're swimming

Godzilla:Hey angilas come on.Theres alot of trouble ahead.Lets hurry

    Angilas:OK

  • "AAAEEE GYEEERRRR"

  • Anguirus: OK!!

  • These speech bubbles only appear on Japanese prints/DVD's of the film. It's not present on the R1/U.S. DVD of the film. The theatrical print I saw of the International English version at G-Fest 2008 had the speech bubbles present. So it must have been some kind of work print. This however still doesn't explain why the speech bubbles are missing from the DVD version, which features the International version of GIGAN, which in turn is exactly the same as the Japanese cut expect for the audio.

  • Way to have a spine, Angilas.

If Godzilla told you to piss off King Ghidorah and then fight him on your own, would you do THAT?!

Oh wait, you did do that.

  • @egdeltur666 Anguiras is really the unsung hero of the franchise.

  • thanx for the vid

  • The reason this isn't on the Sony DVD is because Sony decided to use the print of the dubbed version. I have the official Toho Video release and there are speech bubbles, just as there are here. When the film was released in the US in 1977 (as Godzilla on Monster Island), the speech bubbles were gone because Cinema Shares used the international print (with a new title screen, credits and "The End" card). *All* US video releases use the international print (with the "Godzilla vs. Gigan" title).

  • i remember the english dub of this movie airing on TV on time and it had the speech bubbles!

  • Woah They Do Talk

  • i've just seen the original japanese version and there are no ballon pop ups, just screeching sounds in both sceens, only the american version ziila and angillas talk

  • @gillman47

This footage is taken from the original Japanese theatrical release.

  • @gillman47 Why would they have added Japanese language balloons that weren't in the Japanese version?

  • his voice is hoarse because he is always breathing his atomic flame lol

  • "HEY ANGUIRUS!"

    "What do you want?"

"Something funny's going on! You'd better check!"

    "Oh yeah!"

    "HURRY UP!

"Hey, Anguirus, come on! There's a lot of trouble ahead! We must hurry."

    "Okay."

  • Though the voice is completely different, Godzilla's speech patterns make me think of Yogi Bear.

  • this is starting to remind me of garfield like in the comics he has a thought bubble to talk its actually kinda cool

  • this makes 4Kids Dub look like a Masterpiece.

  • i know what they said at the sea

Godzilla:hey angurius come on there is alot of trouble ahead we must hurry

    angurius:ok

  • Is Godzilla smoking?

  • OK!

  • OK!

  • OK?! lol

  • 0:28 - it seems that Godzilla was a little bit drunken, as he start speaking for the first time LMAO!

  • So thats how they did it.

  • This is actually pretty cool.

Gives it more of a comic book feel, which really compliments it.

  • I have not laughed so hard at a Godzilla movie since MST3K's Vs. Megalon. This is just priceless.

  • Oh man... that is AWESOME!

To make Kaiju films better they should do two things:

    1) Cut out the lame "human" story aspects and just let two guys in rubber suits kick the crap out of each other and the miniature cities for over an hour.

    2) Let them have Word Balloons like this when talking trash!

    Thanks for uploading this.

    Made my day.

    :-)

  • Dude. Godzilla treats Anguiras like garbage

  • lol oh snap. XD

  • So he's Godzilla's friend?

  • yup

  • No more like a gay couple XD

  • lol sick

  • "Rey, rangiraaaaaa"

    "whaaat, do ru rant"

"rumring runny's roing on, roo retter reck"

    Hilarious

  • Something funny's going on!

  • You better check!

  • Those bubbles really make this too funny!

  • am i hi or is this real

  • This is as high as you get XD

  • Yep, I have this film in Japanese, with English dubs, and the word balloons are indeed there.

I like the time when the Peanuts translate the monsters talking to each other, and are shocked at the harsh language used by Godzilla.

  • @WildmanWoodie The Peanuts? What are you talking about?

  • @TheJawsFan24

The Peanuts sing the Mothra song..
