@poopy1239 Right on Brother..it's not about Good People (morally of which he sings)..he has not control over the Goodness..because it is good..so he can move on knowing what the Truth is...which is Love..which brings...peace.
once on a monday morning i had a day of, in the early seventies , turned on the radio to our dutch radio station Hilversum 3 and.... YES with this beautiful song, in the Vincent van Engelen show. thanks Vincent i will allways remember that monday. listening to YES for the first time.
i had made my mind up years ago on yes as bloated proggy nonsense but i read an article on them the other day and thought i'd give them a go, and this isjust brilliant! best thing i've heard in ages
@alexwilsonNC Yep, the teenaged ego is supposed to be a transitory thing, ponies running wild until they're harnessed and broken, for taking up his or her place in the community, hopefully smoothly so. This lyric DOES help point the bullheaded back toward the herd...of their own volition.
@MightyMartl, i just bought South of the Sky last night, personally I like to play South of the Sky on drums and guitar, but I've Seen All Good People I like to Sing on vocals.
@vistea1 I couldn't decide if I wanted to buy this or South Side of the Sky and I decided on the latter. I only had enough points for one song and one cheaper song. South Side of the Sky is hella fun on guitar and it's probably insane on Keys.
@thefaketahare The reason why is because the "induction committee" for the Hall is one person...the man responsible for Rolling Stone Magazine. That shows what they know about music.
These are all top notch musicians, and their music and creative processes are on a completely different level than 75 % of musicians. But why, oh why, does Steve Howe, the guitar player, never get proper credit? He plays smokin rock style, tears up a classical guitar, (listen to The Clap), and is one of the most versatile guitarists out there. I love this band and this song!
I don't think anyone but guitar players recognize his unique talents. I dated a girl back in the 70s and I was trying to convince her that Howe was the best. She liked Peter Frampton, "Because he is cute" - So with that kind of mentality, it is hard to get people to see his dominance of the guitar because he also plays so eloquently, not just loud and nasty. But to us guitarists, he'll always be #1
@skyelander00 I have to agree with you, I saw Yes this summer with Styx....Howe plays guitar like no one I have ever seen....he is awesome! And by the way, im a girl! LOL

I swear there was an earlier version I used to listen to in the mid '70s without the '80s genre 'All we are saying is give peace a chance' background vocals... ???
@cover821 Well, I personally belive that the rock band Kansas was the American awnser to Yes. Kerry Livgren from Kansas really reminds me of Rick Wakeman at times. Kansas even had their own pop phase in the mid 80s. Kansas had Drastic Measures while Yes had 90125. Kansas mainstream hit "Fight Fire with Fire" is the equievelant to Yes' "Owner of a Lonley Heart"
