"Tinariwen" is the plural of "Ténéré" and the word "Ténéré" means desert but not only desert,also "country" or "countryside" the group has being together since 1979 and were living in Tamanrasset in the south of algeria.then after a complex sequence of events they came back to mali to fight a rebellion in 1990.
