Well if you wanna see what would happen if Jordan played against Kobe I'm pretty confident that something similar like this would happen and then people would know without a doubt that Jordan is better. You just heard his mindset at the beginning of the video. He does this to every player day and night.
"To compete to win. That's all I live for really"..... that's fuckin sad, bro. Don't you have family and friends? yikes.... great ballplayer, failure human being...
@tpstrat14 Who put you in charge of deciding what's important in life? What about people who don't have families? What about people who have social disorders that make making friends difficult? Are they failures? If that's your point of view, then it's you who is the failure of a human being. Just because someone has different beliefs and values than you do doesn't make them failures. Learn some respect and get some perspective.
@elangton123123 It's just sad to hear someone say that. And I didn't say his failures were his fault. He was probably taught some real bad falsehoods as a child to think that athletic competition is everything...
@tpstrat14 I can't believe you're actually saying some of the things that you're saying. To a lot of people, competition is everything. It gives them a feeling that just doesn't compare to anything else in this world. If you lack passion in your life, then I truly do feel sorry for you. Competition is this man's passion, and it doesn't make him a failure for having that passion, and wanting to pursue it to the absolute fullest. Pursuing athletic competition is not a "failure."
@elangton123123 Take John Stockton. He was competitive but would definitely not say that it was "everything" to him. His wife and kids would probably have always filled that spot. I'm sorry if all you have in your life is the pursuit of pride over your fellow man (competition)
@tpstrat14 To each his own. I feel sorry for YOU that you are unable to realize that different individuals have different values and beliefs. John Stockton preferred a more "spread-out" lifestyle, and Michael Jordan gave everything he had to the sport. That doesn't make him a failure because he chose to follow his passion. Truly, it is you that deserves the pity in this situation. It's hard to believe that somebody can have such a messed up mentality as your own.
@elangton123123 Once again, I'm not judging. I'm just saying that it's sad. Watch "Bigger, Faster Stronger"... it's on Netflix. It ties the steroid problem in sports with how kids everywhere are being taught that winning is everything. (if personal health means nothing and winning is everything, why not steorids?) It is truly sad for America that Michael Jordan is looked up to as a hero. All he did was put a ball in a hoop...
@elangton123123 But I do apologize to you for having values that I truly believe in. Michael Jordan is not someone I can respect because of those values that I hold dear to my heart. If you have TOO open a mind, it can all spill out onto the ground, you know....
"That there had been even one Michael Jordan seemed in retrospect something of a genetic fluke, and the idea that anyone would arrive in so short a span of time and do what he did both on and off the court seemed highly unlikely." - David Halberstam (Playing for Keeps: Michael Jordan and the World He Made)
MJ didn't have Pippen in their last Championship game against Utah. Pippen was injured, he was having a back spasm, he wasn't even a factor that time. MJ almost did it all by himself, that's a fact!
@24Blal rodman cant score he only rebound pippen was hurt the last championt hey have...the rest were there to score when jordan on the bench..that team roll when jordan roll without jordan they cant even win a championship...look at the yr he left they made the playoff but thats it.
I truly hated the Bulls during this period but when i saw this game live on tv, i was jumping up and down like Cliff Levingston. People forget but Portland actually started the game really well, Porter was hitting every shot. Then MJ wen't crazy.
Best playoff performer of all time, and nobody comes even close. If you combine Wade/Kobe/Lebrons "great" playoff games, you still have less than what MJ had by himself. That is the thing that seperates him, nobody cares about season records.
@bluebird1492, Kobe isn't that great o.o.. the only reason he's winning is cause of his team, MJ did MOST of the shots because he has a better chance at making it then the rest of his team did.. I really do respect this guy right here he became so deep.. it's amazing really
MJ's team has pippen, kobe's has good center. but that's not the point. during MJ time, they have to struggle really hard to get a champion, and MJ had played an impossible role.
The point is people saying that Kobe won a championship on '09 because of his team. Yet, the same people give Jordan ALL the credit when the Bulls won championships; never taking into account that Jordan had arguably the greatest basketball team of all time: '96 Bulls.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. I think Jordan is the GOAT, but at least be fair in your comparisons.
@PCC9 but jordan time better defense and more trash talking today defense suck and no trash talking...kobe if he had to play during jordan age he would struggle he wont be able to handle the hard defense they play and the trash tlaking be getting to his head. he cry and whine today even with all the fouls call for him.
@Taywarit13 I'll agree with you that defense was more rough and more was allowed during Jordan's age, but let's not forget Kobe came into the league in '96. He struggled early, as all great players do, but he proved that he could play in the league. He had big games, but he was held back by his coach. He was an All-Star starter when he wasn't even a starter for the Lakers.
To say that Kobe wouldn't be able to handle the hard defense is just wrong. He did handle it.
@PCC9 jordan came in after he was drafted and lit fire to nba as soon as he came in his problem was ball hog...lol he learn to share later and he got 6 rings.
@PCC9 just so you know, kobe came in when handchecking was illegal. he also never faced the pistons and knicks from the early 90s which is the true meaning of rough/physical defense.
and also, looking at kobes fg% against soft and no handchecking defense, can you imagine what it would be like against the 80s and early 90s defense? he would adjust his game for it, but he would never be able to average over 45% fg or 25ppg.
@neslolz Hmm, to say that Kobe would not be able to average 25 ppg, in ANY era of professional basketball would be incorrect in my opinion. His career average seems a bit low because he played so many years with Shaq as the secondary option, but you're looking at it too logically. Sports doesn't work that way. Hypothetically, if team A beats team B, and team B beats team C, one would think that team A will beat team C easily, but there are too many factors that come into play.
@neslolz A lot of Jordan's offensive explosions were a direct response to the physical play that was being done to him. Who is who to say that Kobe would not have responded in a similar way? Look at how he explodes today when teams are playing him physically; he burns them.
@PCC9 im just stating the facts. if he only averages 26-27ppg and around 45% fg, then what would happen if everytime he shoots someones got a hand on his waste pushing him backwards, and everytime he drives people are grabbing on his shirt. it was just more difficult to score back then because of the defense. meaning kobes numbers would go down
@neslolz Well those are all hypothetical. You THINK that Kobe would do worse in a more physical league, but what I'm saying is that sometimes offensive players play as a response to the level of play of the defense.
As a basketball player, when I'm being defended rigorously, I tend to play harder and excel more to meet the defense's presence. Who's to say that Kobe would not be capable of doing that?
@chican06 another reason was MJ demanded your best game if you walked on the court with him so his team had no choice but to raise their game cuz MJ was tenacious.
EVERYTHING kobe does is a copy of MJ thats all he does do and all he did do growing up, i bet he has this tape on his shelves and still watches it all the time.
well seeing as how MJ and Kobe had the same coach in Phil Jackson, it shouldn't be a suprise to know that a lot of things will be similar. that signal is a play in the triangle, jordan ran it and now kobe runs it.

@gl1production That may be the worst decision ever made in the history of all sports. Although something else happened in the same exact draft that may be a close second: the Utah Jazz fans choosing to boo their management's choice of John Stockton as the 16th pick of the draft. @gl1production I agree. However, my Rockets picked Hakeem Olajuwon over Jordan and while I am biased I am glad they did it. Jordan's Hall of Fame speech was shameful. When you are the greatest ever, you don't need to say to everyone who doubted you, "haha you were wrong." He already did that by winning six titles and being known as the best ever. And I agree he was the best ever of course, but I'll take our two titles and a player who exemplifies class.
@k2highto His HoF speech wasnt in anyway shameful.. reason for him callin ppl out was he wanted to show people where he got his motivation from and what kept his competitive fire going.. i really dont think he was rubbing anything in anyones face nor being classless.
