Floyds surely has great defensive skills and is highly talented but in my opinion, it will not be enought for a victory over pacquiao. Hopkins was not in his prime when he fought RJJ the first time. Hopkins was still an up and coming fighter. Yes, he was 28, but he was in prison until he was 22. Jones was a much more polished fighter than Hopkins despite being younger. Hopkins didn't hit his prime until his early 30's. Secondly, it was not an easy win for Jones. Jones was flashier so he scored better, but they were evenly matched for the most part. Third, Hopkins beat Jones in their rematch.
In last 5 rounds of Jones vs Hopkins Jones was dominating. On a rematch vs Hopkins, Jones was long past his prime and was shot. I agree Hopkins is amazing fighter and by the way was robbed against Pascal in his last fight, but I cannot agree that prime Hopkins is better than prime Jones.

@HULKHODGY Dirrell's clinching against Froch was part of his strategy. Floyd did it to Hatton, B-Hop did it to Calzaghe, it's a tactic that certain fighters use in certain fights. Dirrell did it to Froch because Froch has super long arms and power in both hands. So Dirrell got his shots off, and tied Froch up before Froch could get off himself. Dirrell didn't fight like that against Hanshaw or Abraham. Clinching can be used to neutralize certain fighters' offense, that's all Dirrell was doing.

Not only that but Froch was hitting Dirrell in the back of the head the entire fight and didn't even get a warning. And B-Hop got low blowed by Calzaghe......it's on TAPE. Floyds surely has great defensive skills and is highly talented but in my opinion, it will not be enought for a victory over pacquiao. Im not saying pacquiao has the fight already in the bag, but based on manny's constant dominance over top contenders its hard to imagine how floyd would beat pacquiao. @Quivna Bute is overated and is going to get downed as soon as he faces ward/froch/Dirrell (if he man up and fights like he can). He did win 11/12 rounds but that fact stands he should have a ko loss against him. i see nothing in bute too say that he deserves to be ranked above ward and froch. overated.

@HULKHODGY I only agree for Andre Ward. Dirrel is very fast and skilled but his chin is a mystery. Froch hits very hard and has tons of stamina and very good chin but I would put my money on Bute 's body shot. IMO Dirrel won the fight againts Froch it was clearly a robery

Roy Jones wanted fuck all to do with Calzaghe, he said Joe offered him fight, ask also Froch how times Frank warren offered him a fight. Roy hated Southpaws and stayed in California all his fight career, joe would beat him.

Roy Jones was fighting from 10 years and stayed unbeaten till 35, for 14 years being champ in category he picks. And nobody else was fighting like Roy.
Now on Calzaghe - Bernard Hopkins earned a split decision against Joe. And it was not prime Hopkins. Prime Jones easily defeated prime Hopkins. Imagine what prime Roy Jones will do to Calzaghe. I like Calzaghe but he is one of many. Just go to the street and ask who knows Calzaghe. Nobody. Who knows Roy? Half of the world.

@BlackDogGrim People over here in britain think joe was a god, i share the opinion of the americans, he wouldnt really have stood a chance against a prime jones. you cant really judge on the hopkins fight tho cos he was there to spoil. holding, throwing himself on the floor claiming low blows and what not. if hopkins prime would have fought prime calzaghe i do think the result would have been the same jones however, ko for jones between 8-10.

Hopkins was not in his prime when he fought RJJ the first time. Hopkins was still an up and coming fighter. Yes, he was 28, but he was in prison until he was 22. Jones was a much more polished fighter than Hopkins despite being younger. Hopkins didn't hit his prime until his early 30's. Secondly, it was not an easy win for Jones. Jones was flashier so he scored better, but they were evenly matched for the most part. Third, Hopkins beat Jones in their rematch.

In last 5 rounds of Jones vs Hopkins Jones was dominating. On a rematch vs Hopkins, Jones was long past his prime and was shot. I agree Hopkins is amazing fighter and by the way was robbed against Pascal in his last fight, but I cannot agree that prime Hopkins is better than prime Jones.

And he was 39 years old! A prime Jones would have ANNIHILATED Danny Green ANYWHERE in the universe. I don't care if they fought in Australia or on Mars, Jones would have destroyed Green EASILY.

Hit and not get hit, and Dirrell did that better than Froch. He didn't run, he just boxed. And Hopkins showing against Calzaghe was awesome, he dropped him and outboxed him....another robbery. But that robbery wasn't home cooking since it was in Vegas, that was a racial robbery.

Dirrell has all the tools to be great and should have gave froch a lesson but he didnt, he just hasnt got it in him to engage. Brother, even the ref told him to stop holding and fight. And the hopkins show was even worse, the threw himself on floor claiming low blows and even joe cortez had to tell him to get on with it. i aint biased its just im not blind.

@HULKHODGY Dirrell's clinching against Froch was part of his strategy. Floyd did it to Hatton, B-Hop did it to Calzaghe, it's a tactic that certain fighters use in certain fights. Dirrell did it to Froch because Froch has super long arms and power in both hands. So Dirrell got his shots off, and tied Froch up before Froch could get off himself. Dirrell didn't fight like that against Hanshaw or Abraham. Clinching can be used to neutralize certain fighters' offense, that's all Dirrell was doing.

Not only that but Froch was hitting Dirrell in the back of the head the entire fight and didn't even get a warning. And B-Hop got low blowed by Calzaghe......it's on TAPE. That shot was low, it him him right in the crotch man.

@BfromSD1 I dont know if its just the american way and the european way that makes us have a different view on the dirrell fight but he was pathetic in that fight. holding and clinching 10-15 times a round. i like all styles, boxers, punchers, box-punchers. But when this was aired I was stunned to see Froch (who is NEVER in a dull fight) to be hugged and wrestled and dirrell falling on the floor.. Fighters DIE in the ring trying to win, he was dying to get out the ring ..... !
