  • That was great. I loved it! Did you make-up the plans to build this instrument? Wish I knew how to make one. Bravo!

  • Excellent, enjoyable!!!!

  • Almost I think I see Cadfael's friend, brother Anselm, breathe again!

  • really neat.........and dressed for the part too

  • The organ in background - is it an Ahlborn digital ? Looks Like a "Hymnus".

  • @organgoesheavy > it is a Viscount Prestige 50

  • What key is it set in?

  • I like it very much - cannot say how much! The Offshore Organbuilder may have a point, but nevertheless this is fascinating, and so interesting. Sometimes we need to listen to music in its purest forms :)

  • Une magnifique example de musique mediavalle, oui?

  • The organ looks very well, and sounds very musical, but I notice its tone is rather hard - presumably the pipes are very narrow scale. Who made it? Thanks for the posting.

  • look here: wolkenstayn dot de

  • @Offshoreorganbuilder My guess is that the pipes have been voiced on the slow side so that you don't get unwanted barking and over-blowing with such a direct wind system.

  • @eatyerbeansThanks for the reply, but I don't think I can agree with you on this one. I have a portative of my own, which I made some years ago, just for the interest, and the pipes do not overblow in any way, despite being small-scaled and stoppered. I agree that the wind system could not be more direct, but then the pressure is completely under the control of the player, just as much as if he were blowing the pipes with his own breath and pipes sounded this way always speak at their optimum.
