@packers96worldchamps Green bay was titletown, in the 60's. Pittsburgh, PA and New England have more rights to be called titletown than Green Bay, who, since their NFL Championship reign, has only won 4 Super Bowls. Waa, Waa, Waa
@packers96worldchamps not to mention "titletown" but as far as titletowns go, Green Bay is at the bottom of the top ten. Green Bay has won football titles, hooray, but what the hell else other products has Milwaukee and Wisconsin turned out besides the Bucks and Badgers? Green Bay is not Titletown, it is far from it. If anything, New York and Boston are at the top of the list, however, Valdosta is just as deserving for what it has done.
Are you kidding me? Valdosta won this thing? What a joke. They shouldn't have even been in the top 20. LA and New York have won fifty times more titles than this city. Oh, and Green Bay is already called "Titletown USA". You can't just take that away from them with this silly contest.
@packers96worldchamps Green Bay has one sport to claim any fame. Only one city in this country can truly call itself titletown and that's NYC. It has national championships in all four major US professional sports and holds the most.
Football more important than education in Titletown?
Lowndes student suspended for wearing Wildcat shirt
Valdosta, GA— Winnersville has landed a Lowndes High School tenth grader in in-school suspension. On Tuesday, Oct. 5, the student entered his first class at Lowndes High wearing a gray sweatshirt with the Valdosta High School colors and Wildcat paws. His teacher deemed the sweatshirt a disruption and asked him to remove the sweatshirt or turn it inside out. etc
@packers96worldchamps Actually, long before ESPN did this contest, Valdosta was always known as "Winnersville, USA". In fact, we still refer to ourselves more as Winnersville rather than TitleTown. A few businesses in town call themselves TitleTown and it's on the "Welcome to Valdosta" signs as you come into town, but our annual rivalry game is still called "The Winnersville Classic". And personally, I prefer Winnersville over TitleTown.
i just moved here from jacksonville valdosta is so warm its the best city sooooo who all lives here in valdosta it is so great isnt it so reply if u live here
i'm a rising freshman going to Valdosta State University, an even tho i LOVE my old high school football team, the MLK Lions, i have to transition from being a Lion to being a Blazer
soo... how many good pro teams to they have, cuz we could to plenty of highschool teams that are good, i mean I dont mind though, I guess their town really wanted it.
Venting releases the inner frustrations but now do this: breathe in and breathe out AHHHHHHHHHHH see now does that feel better. Just breathe in and breathe out......see that felt better...maybe your town will win next time think positive
To the people saying "high school sports don't matter"... where do you think the athletes that the big cites pay to win titles come from? I would think that most professional athletes played high school sports. Congrats, Valdosta.
wow who would've thought it!? I graduated from Lowndes High and Valdosta State and I didn't see it coming because we don't have any professional sprots. I have to admit though, the fans in Valdosta are like no other, and that is coming from a diehard Chicago Bears Fan! Good Job Valdosta! GO BLAZERS!!!!!!
if it cant go to massillon i hope it goes to valdosta or parkersberg. there is no way that the likes of newyork, boston, pitt, ann arbor can match the small towns support, passion and overall winning %. the big citys overall arent even close. good luck in the competition!
I totally agree with you. The big cities have such fickle fans...*ahem*-Atlanta, Boston, New York-*ahem* that only root for a team when they win. Small towns (Massillon, Valdosta, etc.) still root for their teams in large numbers and with the same amount of pride and passion whether it's a good season or a bad season.
I'm from Valdosta and they did an excellent job of showin da nation what Winnersville is all about. Its a long shot...but i hope we win it. GO CATS GO!!!
