This is actually an old tradition that people here in sweden used to protect themselves from witches when the witch trials were going on. People filled jars and bottles with broken glass, rusty nails, saliva, urine and all kinds of stuff that they believed would keep witches away and then they buried it under their doorstep. Because of this some witches here in sweden don't want to use it, but I feel that it is totally fine to take this great idea and adapt it to our modern life and practice.

Just met Selena Fox a week or so ago at Augusta, GA's 2nd Pagan Pride Day. Everyone really seemed to enjoy her talk. I'm kind of new, kind of floating around the edges of paganism for a while now, but still learning, so I'd never heard of her before. Still, I got the impression she was someone big. Created the Witches Bottle and performed my ceremony tonight. I invited the Angels and right in the middle of my ceremony a feather flew to my right side. I swear to god! Good video. We used pins that were no longer good for sewing because they were bent, broken glass and broken mirrors, and urinated in it. I know it sounds gross, but thats what we did. I learned this twenty five years ago, and still use this method. We use any old bottle we have as well.

Well, it seems that this year the solstice is a few days AFTER the full moon. Hmm....dilema. SHould I do this on the full moon anyway or do I do it still right before the solstice or what? I read on several websites that centuries ago some witches filled the bottle with their urine. I also read that they filled it halfway with glass, nails, pins and all sorts of sharp objects but none mentioned a penny. Is it any less effective this way?

This is very similar to a juju jar that I made several years ago. In its case, you fill a can with old nails and broken glass. It may be unbecoming to a lady such as yourself, but the can is then filled with urine and then buried in the center of your circle. It reflects all evil and harm ment for you.

I did the witches bottle last night it was truly an amazing experience. Before I started it began to drizzle and the full moon couldn't be seen because of the clouds. But when I started she appeared to me in the sky and it stopped raining it went so well it was really a magical time. Even tough the wind was blowing out my candle. But I found out today that my grandma had passed, so I feel that was a message in the wind. I miss her so much:( Thank you so much for everything.

As beautiful as my front yard and entrance area is, 99% of the activity with family and guest take place at the back of my home (this is where I do my rituals also), so that is where most of the energy comes and goes, so to speak.

Do you feel you can discuss this with your housemates? In my opinion, if you are renting the home, you can do it, then remove it when you leave. The bottle should protect all in the home from unwanted harm, and create a loving and harmonious enviornment - Through free will, for the good of all.
