That is so annoying. My Sun conure does this all the time, then screams when he has no food. I've had him for over 25 years now. I also own a Yellow Naped Amazon, also over 25 years old. Wonder if they will outlive me?
Does your Jenday talk? Mine does, I thought they all did...My Rico does the same thing with his bowl. He sweeps his beak in and all the food flies. They are so funny!
This is so cute, I am hoping to adopt a Jenday conure soon... we've been making regular visits to see if the little jenday "picks us", chilli is so cute, I love jendays, they have SUCH a great personality!! Thanks for posting this keep it up, you have one of the cutest birds EVER!!!
I have two conures as well, a green cheek:Widget and a sun:Ember, when Widget was younger and we would put crumples into his seed dish at night time he would throw a tantrum just like this. The only difference was that Widget some how learned to say "What is this shit" at the same time.
chili peper was like "yeah mom i am throwing a temper tantrum cuz i don't like pellets! geez woman you should know that by now!!!!" he's cute lol!

I've had a few birds who do that in the beginning. I had a hugely messy canary.
But he learned after a while. Most of them do.

Yes, he can talk a little bit. He says "Hi Chili", "Hello", and "Good morning", along with a lot of muttering in a mix of conurese and English.
