I still remember the days when Bill Cullen hosted the original "Price Is Right" on daytime TV, (NBC). Game was played much differently back then, & it was only a 30 min. program. Mr. Cullen passed away in 1990.
Blake seemed liked a lucky and smart contestant here. His knowledge and luck really payed of here to take the game and go on to face the devil. As for his personality; he seemed very excitable for a Canadian and very bubly too. Since there are no Chain Reaction clips here with him i'll just say this; Blake was passsionate but a little to excited for the show that he hosted. Geoff Edwards was his usual self & didn't seem that bad. A 5 star job for him on TJW & 1.5 stars on CR.
Hey does anyone remember the show Blake was on the seventies called Funny Farm...kind of like a Canadian version of Grand Ole Opry? I'd love to find a clip of that...
Oh, and before I get, the music being played as Blake walks over to Face The Devil, is the winner's music from Bullseye (so this had to be from 1980-1982 at the very least).
Hal is his name..and thank goodness he rubbed that suit for luck and it paid off with that 3-joker spin. I mean, what are the odds of winning with only a 3-joker spin (let alone GETTING a 3-joker spin)?
That's right, his name was Hal. Too bad when he lost after trying to answer all those consecutive $50 fast-forward questions with the one joker. I think he was one or two away from winning.
Blake was a much better contestant than he was a host!

Bill Cullen was a great gameshow host, he wasn't loverly condenscending like many of the others.

Those were the days when hosts had Benjamins in their pockets.
Remember those bonus rounds with the phone contestant. They pushed a button on their touchtone phones and the lever was pulled. That was pretty cool.

Anybody got any more Joker's Wild episodes with Bill Cullen?

Blake is annoying with all the damn yelling.

I don't blame Blake Emmons one bit when he said "Well we're from the mountains and you have to yell."

Blake Emmons: JOKERS!!!

Steven got only one joker, he needed two more for a total of three.

Some people might think if Bill had a symbolic torch, he should have done something else with it :-)

They cut off the last note of the Bullseye music during the 1985-1986 season.

Bill didn't take over until 1984. They used another cue for Face the Devil from 1983 to 1985, then brought this one back for Cullen's last season.

Yes I wish someone had an MP3 or something of that...someone once said it was a Hot Potato-like cue.

That was from "Bullseye" when a contestant won the bonus island game!

Wait, wasn't this one of the clips from the now defunct Page O'Clips?
gameshowguy2000 3 years ago
It might have been but I ripped it from my own DVD and made the file myself.

At least Bill didn't jump the gun and make the assumption about Blake that Jim Lange did for Patrick Wayne. :-)

Too bad Mr. "Lucky Suit" Al wasn't there to spin three jokers for Steven.

How funny, I thought about "Lucky Suit" Al at that same moment. Al's 3-joker spin was awesome.
