@Slatanicgods Oh, I know what that feels like! I have spent plenty of time trying to get track working - cleaning the track, disconnecting and reconnecting the pieces, etc. There are some good tips on the web, and it helps that I am an electronic technician, so I was able to eventually get these going:) Check out my other slot car videos when you get the chance so that my hard work won't be for nothing:)
@BlueBetaPro What did you not like about this track? It has over 60 feet of track, lots of curves, loops, etc. Do you not like slot car racing in general? If that's the case I totally understand it is not for everyone..
@BlueBetaPro Impressive speed! Not much to compare to my slot car racing though. Those barely look like cars. I prefer the old school car look and the challenge of getting the 12" and 15" track pieces to interlock and make electrical connection. There is nothing like SEEING an old Plymouth Superbird racing a Dodge Daytona on a track. I give props to those guys for their technical accomplishments though...
Just an update for my viewers - so far it looks like I'll be able to afford that Direct TV package I wanted so long as they pay me for the advertising revenue. I want to thank you all for visiting my videos!!! Don't forget to check out my channel, I have a lot of variety in my videos and you might see something else you may be interested in!
@bchs98 Thanks for the compliment and support! It took a lot to set this one up and get all of the track connections to work, but I think it was worth it!
@Onuund Because of the memories of yesteryear! I also enjoy a lot of other old school stuff because it makes me feel younger than I really am. Some day you will know what I am talking about:)
The layout is fantastic!! However, if you run any cars that don't have a strong magnets, like Aurora Magnatraction or Tjets, they will not survive that loop. Are you planning on leaving the track up permanently? If so, you might want to invest in some guardrails. Are you using stock controllers? Ever try a Parma controller? Once you do, you'll never go back to the stock ones. Parma controllers give you much more control, thus more speed and that's what it's all about. Great job!!
@rodentcafeteria Thanks! No worries, all of my cars are 440-X2 and seem to run the loop just fine. I don't plan on leaving it up permanently, but was already considering the guard rails:) The original set was the Magnum 440-X2 Championship with Nite-Glow so I have a bunch I wanted to try out. I also still have a sheet with the lane stickers. I wasn't sure I'd have enough so I ordered another set. When it arrives I'll tackle the project and hopefully get video up.
@AzKaraokeman Don't limit yourself to only one type (brand) of car. Personally, I think Tjets are the most fun because they don't have magnets holding them down, so you really have to "drive" the car or put more input into the controller in order to stay on track and do fast laps. Thanks so much for the updates on your progress. I'd still get rid of the loops and ramp, but that's just me. Looking forward to your next vid. Take care.
My old tracks sucked, the car would run half a lap and stop I would hafta move them all the time
