  • Hahhaa..love this song of Matt Bianco.! Just found a old cassette recording from 1986 whit this same song. LOL :-))

Ok I agree the song might not be the best ever hes done, but what I love about this song is all the well performed and arranged instrumental parts of the song, just greeat,!

I remenber that I even tryed to learn and copy the keyboards and piano section of the song to play.!

  • Thanks for sharing and keeping posted! Back in the '80s we used their music for dance mixes 8-)

  • Fantastico!

  • Banging tune... sadly it reminds me of a lesser known club known as the Orange Peel Disco in Rhyll... I was there for a freak one off... but we had a cracking night.

  • 1988, Ocean Rooms, Gorleston, laser show !!

  • great track

  • SLT MERCI POUR CE CLIP C DE LA BOMBE <3

  • the first house music

  • All the people on the left

    wap bam boogie

all the people on the right

    boogaloo

Oh dear I am young again and believe me,

there was a lot of wap bam boogie going around

    back on those days...

  • un clasico

  • Limmy's show, look it up.

  • The video doesn't do justice to the track. The song stands out as the best track on the album by far. Bring on a re-release.

  • HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHHA AHAHAHAH AHA HAHA AH AHAHHAHAHAH ommmmmgggg this is greaaaat lmfaooo :D

  • Well, now... here's a tune that's SCREAMING out for a remix!

  • tellement bon !!!

  • this great for wheelchair boogying and for my mood!!

  • I remember this way back from the summer of 1988, oh the memories. cheers!! =D

  • Matt Bianco - terrific - this group didn't get the recognition they deserved. Their blend of jazz and latin put them outside the mainstream of music in the late 80's early 90's, - that's what made them great. My personal favorite: "Say It's Not Too Late". The group spawned Basia and the White bros, Danny and Peter who also pushed the envelope.

Reminds me of Steely Dan - another group that had a bit more success being recognized but certainly did not do the mainstream rock of the 70's era.

  • @bobeld1

But you can't really say they were outside of the mainstream.Their sound is very similar to Mel&Kim for example and they were very popular.Pop,dance and hiphop had many influences from jazz (and funk and soul) during that era, every third dancefloor hit had a piano back then (Rich in Paradise). It's just that many of them were one-hit-wonders, like Black Box' "Ride on time". There were just too many artists back then and all genres were beig mixed up.How I miss this time of experiments!

  • DeathtohiphopnRnB......Actually you are right,sorry if i offended you.

  • @a19patrol Such hate! Thanks for those insightful and thought-provoking comments....

  • @a19patrol

Maybe, that's your right to have that opinion..

But I think it's still good Muzic, compared to so much

    SHITE there is (today?)!

It not meant to be Beethoven, but it's still honest...

    How many are nowadays??

    Just Cash and fame??

    Well that's the real

    SUPERSHITE!!!

  • Great band with a great song in a great decade...MORE FANTASTIC¨´80´s music at my channel!!!!!

  • BELLISSIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Feel the beat!

  • haha

    seem gay!!

  • The version I remember of this had a female singing the " all the people on the left...all the people on the right" part. Is that just me or can anyone else remember that?

  • extra muza!!!

  • I found a version of this in the HVSC, a collection for music written for the Commodore64 (google it)... It sounds PERFECT.

Anyone who is a fan of this and/or the semi-modern power of the C64 needs to hear it. It even has the voice encoded somehow.

This part will blow your mind: complete filesize is 60 kB. Go find that version and be amazed.

  • Wap Bam Boogie - Limmy's Show is a better version

  • When Danny White left Matt Banco their music become worse. And this is an example.

  • when i was in year 5 2 get our atention our teacher used 2 go all the people on the left a wop bam boogie all the people on the right a boogaloo!! (i am now 13 and in year 8)!!

  • @YOFOB264 haha nice 1! your teacher sounds like he maybe my age, mid 30's maybe & still tryin 2 sound cool & down wi the kidz!? this was actually quite a good dance tune back in the day i thought!

  • WYTZ Z-95Chicago played it a lot in Fall 1988.

  • wish I could dance like that. sure to pull the chicks!

  • la mejor cancion!!!

  • I danced to this song for a competition... this is not the full version is it??

  • This band is really great !!

  • wow!! a blast from the past or what??? talkiing about matt bianco in work today and totally forgot about this total dance tune!!!! (S - express or what?????!!???)

  • CHECK OUT THE NEW MIX BY (sTACK 56).VERY TASTY !!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice...yeah I remember the days...sweet!

  • His voice reminds me of win Diesel

  • I used to go out with a very pretty half cuban girl who used to play this on casette in her Datsun Cherry. Then I said something stupid and it all went tits up.....oh well....nice memories of '88 though

  • Did you say something stupid like I love you? Or was that Andy Williams, lol!

  • @pawnsacrifice1 was it "what's this shit? Put some led Zepplin on!"

  • @blueluny lol

  • @blueluny If you don't like it, go to a different page.

  • I was in Santa Barbara Cal area in 85?? I recorded this song off a weird radio program called Guy Goodens Space Pirate Radio, the station was "Y97". I still have the tape. Doesn't play very well anymore though. So if that predates this video, does anyone know who the original artist was?? Would appreciate any info...

  • well i think i added this to a playlist about a year ago but forgot to comment so im sorry this is a bit late ';-)

anyway im luvin this top tune';-)

  • Thanks so much for posting this :o)

"Bappa Doo Bappadoo Bo-Bo, Bappa Doo Bappadoo, Wap Bam Boogie!"

  • I had my own take on that line, and it was:

    "Babitty-babitty-bowl-bowl-babitty-babitty wap bam-boogie"

Like how childish, I can STILL remember it, lol!

  • Me too!

Have been known to troll round the house chanting it at full volume accompanied by various inappropriate and potentially embarrassing 'dance' movements...

Then I have a bit of a lie down...

  • @death2hiphopnRnB Ha! Love it! My version of the lyrics have stuck in my mind all these years - sign of a a great tune :o) So cheeky and full of fun and just a little bit SEXY!

  • @helen221b That's the lyrics???

  • @heine71 Ha Ha! I've no idea really; that's just how they sounded to me! As death2hiphopnRnB says, we've probably all got our own take on the lyrics... As long as you have a bloody good time singing them and dancing like a mad thing who cares, really? ;o) Enjoy!

  • @helen221b It could have been perfect for KARAOKE...

  • fabtastic blast from the past !!!

  • Absolute genius dancing! Love the moves, the cheeky facial expressions and the tune just ROCKS!

  • this is great stuff

  • I've got mates who like me are in their 40s and at an inappropriate moment you say "wap-a-diddle-wap-a-diddle-boogaloo". Sad but fun, works with boys AND girls of our gen, so anyone who hates Sod off.

  • Amen to that. Have removed previous comment by a toss-pot!

  • @sussexpenguin I'm 29 years old this June and I remember loving this song as a kid LOL. Still think it's cool

  • @sussexpenguin Wap-a-diddle?

  • @sussexpenguin

What's sad about that? The current generation will experience the same phenomeon when they are 40, just that it's not "wap bam boogie", instead it'll be "whooo hooo" (from Song2) or the crazy frog ringtone ...

  • fivepointsix - fuck off! It's a disco classic you sad twat. What's your best song from the 80's? I'd be curious to know!

  • this song plays in germany regensburg in the armin wolf arena by a baseball game

  • class. thx death2hiphopnRnB !

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. I aim to please :-)

  • So thankful for youtube that we can re-live all these classics.....

  • The '80s were my teenage era. Good music and groups. We had the New Have

with Chrissy Hinds, the "Madnes", "Tears of Fears", "Madonna", "Simple Minds", "Simply Red", "T'Pau", "Matt Bianco" and other good sounds and groups.

  • podes crer....que saudades...

  • wot wot

  • totalement genial !!!!!!!!!!!

  • The 80's was by definition the most wonderfull music era, compared with all the stuff we here these days ... Damn, I really miss the 80's ... wish I could turn back time ...

  • Ok.

    I gave you a +

    But I'm sure...

60's and 70's were not bad.

    Ok.

In 80's music was supported by technology and...

    Ok.

    My English is terrible.

  • Congratulations nightfire620 you've just been blocked for being an argumentative twat.

  • Torquay. I was 14 and spent a month in U.K to learn English. We danced to this every night at the local club- haven't heard it since and I swear I felt like crying now...happy tears though! The memories...

  • First time hearing it in almost 20 years...loved it back then...have played it in my head from time to time since...all time classic !!!

  • this band is wonderful!!!!

  • Matt Bianco I like it, "tope marxa tio", ten years ago it sounds in all discos; all the people on the left: wap bam boogie, laa the people on the right: bogaloo!! let's go let's goo!!

  • I know I havn't had a hit for 5 years let's jump on the early house music scene & attempt a comeback....Matt get up outta your lazy bed!!! Always hated this song...No offence to those on here that like it but...it was the start of artists making house music mainstream!!! I'd rather Jack than Fleetwood mac!!!

  • Awesome track - PWL written all over it

  • Sweet. I know this tune well, but didn't know the artist's name.

  • To whom exactly are you referring, may I ask?

  • GREAT!!!

  • The Fuck is it gay! What planet are you from?

  • top,top,nummer 1

  • hey this was a classsssiiiiicccc .....back to the old skoool

  • Yep !!! But with no lessons and home works...

  • I have never seen this video until now of course. I have seen the "A" side "Don't Blame It On That Girl" dozens of times.

  • Pete Waterman plugged this on his show 'The Hit Man and Her' with Michaela Strachan. An excellent song from a fab show.

  • I never really think of Matt Bianco as a house music group, but this most definately H-O-U-S-E!

  • Why this was never re-released, i'll never understand, still a classic, still get's the people to dance!

  • What a fantastic song, from a fantastic group. Cheers!!!
