I owned a 1971 dodge polara about 12 years ago, what a car. I had the 383 big block with the automatic 727 torqueflite. That thing was bullet proof. Best car I ever owned. Had enough trunk space to make any Cadillac owner jealous. MOPAR for life.
Gorgeous survivor Polara! Love the loop grille (from what I understand that was an expensive part for Mopar to make). If you ever decide to sell this car, contact me through YT!
I almost crashed this Dodge yesterday. I was following a huge SUV. He started braking and then turned his left turn signal on. I slowed down and it looked like he was just braking so he could change lanes behind this car he was next to. But when he quickly changed lanes a long line of cars stopped at a green light was suddenly revealed. I was able to come to a dramatic tire-squeeling halt. Embarrassing. I hate driving behind SUV's because of the limited view but I really should be more careful.
Awesome Dodge!(Awesome music too). My first ride was a 71 Plymouth Fury 2 dr Custom. It had some fly paisley black seats. I still miss it and one of these days I will get another "C body"
i just got a polara nobody around here know what it is. mines got the 440 anyone know were i can buy a window regulator or a fuel tank sending unit hahaha but yeah they got power
Man this Brings back memories! My second car, straight out of High School was a 1971 Dodge Polara from CHP! That 440 Magnum knew had to giddy-up when I wanted it. Wish I could have taken it to Germany with me! When I came back, it had been stolen, recovered stripped and sold off to scrap... :-(
Arion Salazar and a band called Bullmark, I should have looked that up. Well I did a long time ago, possibly from off the cd. He was the bassist for Third Eye Blind, that's interesting.
Nice. I bought a 71 Polara Brougham 4DHT in 1984. Mine was an ex-funeral home car, really loaded with goodies like power windows, power bench seat, cruise, deluxe stereo, and more. It was gunmetal blue metallic with a black top and blcak cloth interior. I sold it to buy a 70 Imperial a couple of years later and regret it. The Polara was much more manageable. I'd love to find another but the Broughampackage is rarely seen.
Awesome ride. My parents had a 1971 Polara 4-door. 360. Unbelievably powerful small block...we used to drag race big 455-powered Oldmobuicks and kick their asses.
Love that car my father had a 4 door but only with a 360, too bad he got rid of it in 1980, I was too stupid to ask him to keep it, I would have done a lot of work on it, by taking a few years, it would of been worth it, oh well.
The song came from a soundtrack cd to an old PC game called Interstate '76. I don't know if it has a name. All the music is good though, if you like funky retro 70's cop show/porn music.
NICE...I'76 prompted me to buy a '68 Fury for my first car, then later a '72 Fury Pursuit. Wrecked one, sold the other when gas got too expensive. Had a 440 in the '68. For such a huge car, it would MOVE.
...now I've got a '74 Datsun Z. The itch just has to be scratched.
I've always loved early 70's Datsun Z cars. I actually like smaller cars better. I have a Porsche 924, it wasn't as powerful as a Z but still a lot of fun. It's dead at the moment though. This giant Polara is as close to a muscle car as I'm going to get. The popular ones are crazy expensive. I like my Polara though.
Your Bluesmobile looks to be in really nice condition. My Polara is a bit ratty. I reached up for the sunvisor today and pulled down a big chunk of the headliner with it heh.
That grill is so COOl..thanks for the upload!

@Dethmeister Damn man, be careful. A crash for old cars like this mean death. They're very fragile, especially vs SUV crap..

@Dethmeister Reminds me of that movie Disturbia.. where the jackass in
the big truck changes lanes at the last millisecond to reveal a wreck in the road.. resulting in a collision and death of the passenger's dad..

Haha yeah. Al's car was called a "Dodge" in the show but I think it was really a 1972 Plymouth Duster which are actually quite badass.

There should be more 69-73 polaras on Youtube.
There seems to be a batch load of the Argentine versions.
I have a 4 door 69 polara and it's just as bad-ass as the 2 door.
