Whatever happened to this amazing woman with the voice - I heard a song of hers today and WOW.....I'm stopping by my favourite music store tomorrow and buying one of her CD's..........damn she's good ...a truly unique voice............

One of the most charming performances she ever gave was singing Central Reservation on Sessions at West 54th. However, the best part was David Byrne trying to conduct a serious interview with her afterwards, she was so awestruck by being in his presence that she kept giggling. Her lack of affectation and sophistication was absolutely captivating!

Does anyone know who directed this music video? I suspect it may be Hal Hartley (director of films like "Simple Men", "Amateur", "Henry Fool" and "Fay Grim", primarily because he written and directed a stage play that had the actors carrying around microphones and holding them for other actors while performing dialogue in the same manner as the people in the worksuits in this video.

Love the song. Her voice is amazing. But this is the first time I've ever seen the video and my mental image of this song for the past 10+ years was nothing like the video. Interesting. Has she ever acted? She seems capable of it judging from her convincing subtlety in this video.

they just look like some kind of safety glasses (they flash on them so fast you don't get a good look). try a hardware store, harbor freight or some kind of industrial supply. try a big flea markets too 'cause i actually have some cheap cycle googles similar to that.
