Butler is smokin hot in this movie, and probably most of us were cheering for the Phantom to get the girl, but I think if he and Patrick Wilson switched parts, again I'd be cheering for the Phantom. There's something about damaged, "suffering poet" types of men that I can't resist. Especially if they're that hot. So I'm really glad they gave Butler the lead :) The guy can fight Persians half naked *and* sing opera so gracefully, I mean... yeah.

But she is accidentally shot and killed. But she always loved him!!!

@pinklishis866 It makes sense for Christine, an innocent young girl to choose Raoul, an innocent young man over the phantom, a mentally disturbed outcast. However, for someone like me or another outcast, we can see why the phantom did what he did rather than what an average person would see and figure that he's just a nut. I'm on the phantom's side, only because I understand him better than anyone else in the story and to me, he's perfect the way he is. Christine's just too innocent for him.

She choose Erik in the end in the Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Love Never Dies it's the history ten years later and they have a son named Gustave and Raoul gave her a miserable marriage he became an alcoholic and a gambler so she mets the phantom again and she choose him this time. it is revealed they consummated their love in a night of passion before she wed Raoul, and Gustave is the fruit of that union. But she is accidentally shot and killed. But she always loved him!!!

Most of you guys don't understand why Christine chose Raoul over the Phantom (or Erik... whatever you want to call him) and it's kind of annoying... Did you pay attention to the ending of the movie?
She started to become afraid of the Phantom (not because of his deformity, but because of the fact that he would so easily kill or harm someone to get what he wants...her)
I'm not going to go into detail. But I definitely love the Phantom more and would have chosen him. Probably because I'm insane

@ultimatepoptart18 The 2004 movie makes it difficult for newer Phans to understand why Christine didn't choose the phantom because they sexed it up so much, I mean really, he makes murdering people seem like a sweet gesture for her. However, if you really think about it, he IS supposed to be the bad guy and hello people, he IS killing people and is completely insane.
However, I'm absolutely in love with phantom so idc if he is the bad guy, I know his heart~

He risked his life for her countless times and did everthing he could to make her happy, but the phantom only hurt her. He knew how he felt about roul but he was still gonna either kidnap her or kill her true love. which is why hes so messed up. but phantoms sexy!

@pinklishis866 It makes sense for Christine, an innocent young girl to choose Raoul, an innocent young man over the phantom, a mentally disturbed outcast. However, for someone like me or another outcast, we can see why the phantom did what he did rather than what an average person would see and figure that he's just a nut. I'm on the phantom's side, only because I understand him better than anyone else in the story and to me, he's perfect the way he is. Christine's just too innocent for him.

to the people who dislike these actor/singers...I mean if they are so bad and you are so good...then why aren't you in this musical?....i mean I'm not trying to be rude but obviously they were chosen for this production for a reason. You may have studied opera or whatever but I've studied dance and I don't bash the professionals just because I am jealous. Don't take it personally I have never heard you sing. That's my opinion whether you agree with it or not.

Oh my god. Twilight is nothing compared to this. It is not a passioinate love story riddled with pain or tragity, it's just a book created to fill the minds of tween girls who have no idea of what good lidrature is. Edward being handsome is the reason at least 50% of his Fangirls like him. Erik is deformed, and we all love him for his passion, genius, and his dark side. Twilight can suck it.

GB couldn't put this song over if he used a pole vault!. The HORSE would have done a better job. Sorry, GB obsessives. Even ALW realized his mistake by going back to a fine tenor for LND. Sure, he's a hunk and a decent actor, but this is THE major mover of the story and he just can't cut it. Also, why use hundreds of candles for what's supposed to be a dark lair? It's lit up like Times Square. Maybe GB'd sound better in the dark.
