To the ones saying "you shouldn't eat meat," I assume we are all Humans, that said you are an omnivore. You are capable of eating a broad variety of food that most other animals can't. Hmm looks good to me, the fact that it was gutted tells me that it was dead even before it hit the frying pan. The fact that it's mouth is still moving just means that it was a fresh kill. Having fished myself I know for a fact that even after being gutted for over an hour. The nerves in the fish can still make it twitch. Kind of odd but in all fact dead and ready to be eaten.
The fish would have been just as fresh without being cooked and displayed in that manner. Watching this just makes me think on how we have evolved and where will we end up if we continue like this. "When we open one door it leads to another".

First of all, fish don't "feel" pain like we do. They have a sensory gland that lets them know "Something is wrong" but it's not pain as in, OMFG!!! Two, the fish gets gutted, sliced on the sides, and throat (area). So by the times it's fried, the thing is dead. What's making the mouth move is shocked nerves. Much like cutting off the head of a snake, it's body is going to wriggle long after.
It's basically to show people how fresh the fish is, which is something they like there.

First of all, fish don't "feel" pain like we do. They have a sensory gland that lets them know "Something is wrong" but it's not pain as in, OMFG!!! Two, the fish gets gutted, sliced on the sides, and throat (area). So by the times it's fried, the thing is dead. What's making the mouth move is shocked nerves. Much like cutting off the head of a snake, it's body is going to wriggle long after.
It's basically to show people how fresh the fish is, which is something they like there.

@hasithable Seriously what's up with the multiple question marks? o_O Anyway, that's not in this video which is why I only commented on the methods concerning the preparation of this particular fish. If you can find a video of anyone skinning a LIVE animal like a deer or tiger for fur, then yes, my opinion will be different however not because, "Oh those animals are cute!", but because they're biological structure is infact different than a fish. Please don't confuse biology with morality.

I'd rather go ahead and kill the fish humanely before I eat it (and I don't even eat fish). It isn't.
It's physiologically impossible for the protiens to break down that fast to change in flavor. This has every thing to do with cooking an animal so it's still alive and the fun in eating it as such, it has nothing to do with freshness, that is a total bs statement to cover up the real reason.
This is an extreme, and a bad one.

@jegerover18ar i don't like my food to feel pain!! at least not the mammals, pain=adrenaline= tough and unpleasent meat... as for fish, meh, they don't feel pain like we do, they do show a response to external stimuli (as stress, not pain), but that is one of the characteristics of living things, even plants and bacteria... so this fish only suffered a little more as a carrot being fried, the germs when you wash your hands, etc etc

@jegerover18ar "shit like this" is probably just something you're not used to, as for it being "stupid", well that's your opinion. i'm in cooking school, i HAVE killed animals for food, and i have not found another way to get food aside from killing something... i suppose it is unnecesary to have the fish still moving while on the plate (if it's alive or not is another story, i don't think it is), but as a cook, i can see the gastronomical value to that presentation. mukimono is also cruel
