Working as a cashier in a retail store is another way to interact with people. You've GOT TO look people in the eye, smile, ask them how they're doing, and soon and so on. After you do it 1000, or 50,000 frikken times(!), sooner or later you realize that, hey! i'm getting GOOD at this socializing stuff. Like anything worthwhile it just takes practice.
