@haipianist i actually just bought the microstation recently. i love it, but stillllll thinking that i'm gonna have to invest in something bigger. i'd rather just get a plain old midi keyboard and connect it. don't know how yet, still new to MIDI and Synths and sequencing and layering AND GODDAMMIT IDK HOW TO DO SHIT BUT PUSH BUTTONS....any helps? :c
Can't believe this thing sounds this good...... I almost want one to gig alongside an acoustic guitar and add stuff like this to a set. Wait did I say almost want? Nah. I DO want.
Vince, I would not buy this to learn piano. It could be fine with organ patches or synth patches because of the mini keys. To learn piano, you should have a weighted graded unit. Yamaha has units under $500. Sounds like you need a Microstation to learn synth stuff and a digital piano for piano. Ebay and Craigslist is an option for a digital piano around $300. Remember: weighted, graded 88 keys for serious piano.
Im thinking about getting a korg microstation as my first keyboard to learn piano/synth. Do you think this is a good idea? Also, what speakers do you recommend?
@vince12345 maybe go with a full size, x50 sounds great too!! you cant go wrong with a korg. I got a x50 as my first two weeks ago, runner up was the micro, i chose x50 for the regular size keys. only thing is that some people complain of the x50 keybed. the keys are lightweight and i find it easy to fly through them.. I am already shredding my arrpegios yay!! good luck yo
Does this amazing keyboard has touch sensed keys, I'd like to buy it to play piano in places where is hard to get my yamaha motif XS 8 but I want to know if these keys are weighted :P
@DuvanBoydOfficial i tried extensively the keyboard this morning at my home.it smokes my m 50.it's very analog and raw thekeys are velocity but not weighet very light and fast action.if you don't like minikeys it's worth as a sound module alone.
there is something new in the programming of the presets: warm warm warm
I'm considering purchasing this board soon and was searching around for some info and wow, that was just about the best four minutes and twenty two seconds of this day so far. Thanks for sharing.
loving the sound and of course your playing however I've just never been a fan on those mini-keys. In fact I respect you for being able to play such a nice piece on those keys. thumbs up ;)
Well done. Lovely performance. I'm not a pianist. If I were, I'd connect a full sized keyboard ( going for less than £50 on ebay) via the MIDI in port. I bought mine to replace existing gear - JV1080, Yamaha DJX and Alesis Sr-16 in my home studio. It's a lot more compact now and the added functionality, especially when the software editor is hooked up is astounding.
Beautiful(:

WOW! Great piano patch on the Microstation. Is it a preset or a user combination of piano/pad.?.?
