@StoneCold75 like it or not, the vandals are what keep these abandoned places alive. i understand that 99% of the graffiti here is garbage, but its a sign of human existence and activity in such a forgotten place.
@TheBoyz5 The building is still abandoned, but I'm not sure when it opened. According to some older people I've heard from who have been around far longer than I, it was open and in use as early as the 50s, so apparently it has a long history.
This is Downunder for sure. Depending on when this was taken it was it might have been the time between chips and downunder. This just burnt down recently. Sad to see another house go. Sad to see a house even look like this. And it is a duckpin bowling alley
@Pdasilva0324 I just went by what was on the topside door, they had named the place "Down Under Duckpin" at some point in time. They've since closed it up a lot more, but it's still a fun little place to sit down and take in.
We found some postcards in the trashy office in the back, this one looked pretty amazing when it was open. The fun part about this one, though, is that it's underground!
Great video! I used to belong to a bowling league many moons ago. These places are shutting down all over the country because they're too expensive for the owners to keep going and lack of demand.
This place has actually been out of commission for a long time now. Early/mid-nineties at least, but probably longer - I couldn't put an exact date on it. From the post cards we found, it looked like it was really nice.

@StoneCold75 I hear that man, it's a shame. People don't appreciate history anymore nowadays.

That looked like it was a pretty nice place at one time. Pretty nice for A duck pin alley.

Holy sh*t!!! There are STILL vending machines there? Wow, somebody obviously didn't care if they lost a ton of money on those.

@my5guysgirl There was a lot of stuff left behind there, it was really amazing. It's like one day, they just locked the doors and never came back.

It's candlepin, not duckpin. But cool video nonetheless.

Where was this taken??
BJSteigner 1 year ago
There used to be bowling alleys wherever there were people. It was a place where they could have both adult activities and family activities.
But now most of them are gone. Some are still around. I think there's one in Cedarhurst,, NY, with the old 1950's Googie decor.

If it was abandoned, how were there still lights to it?
Cruiseomatic1989 2 years ago
Generators were still running. Other people were obviously using it as a skatepark quite often, so I'm not sure whose behalf it was on.
