Yes it's true. They filmed most of these in the summer so it was a summer intern job which didn't violate any NCAA rules because it was summer. They needed people who were quite tall, and he responded to the add for it.

I dont know the episode name but he is the sleestack that gets scared off by a little canon blast owned by a lost civil war fellow. He was too close to the canon when it went off and said he couldnt hear for many days afterward.
