  • if you go to australia beaches always have with you vinegar ... you never know...redbacks are kids play compare to this beast...if bitten GO to HOSPITAL NOWNOT LATER IT CAN COST YOUR LIFE... also vinegar does not make pain less it just stop nymatocestes to inject venom neutralizing it. how you thing someone else would take the nymatocestes awya from your skin. The nematocestes not only cause invenomation to death but also cause skin ulcers that leave scars

  • Never swimming there again!!! >: O

  • That's what I can swim under water

  • Its Scary and Dangerous but its Beatfull!

  • @TheBajuska9 WHAT!?! I SHITTED MY SELF LOOKING AT IT!!!

  • Awkward when they show something that looks a lot like a portuguese man of war, which technically isnt a jellyfish...

  • Comment removed

  • U jelly?

  • Dwight Schrute.

  • OH SHIT, THE BOX JELLY FISH HERE TO KICK ASS AND TAKES NAMES. JESUS FUCKING SHIT CHRIST THIS IS THE MOST VENOMOUS ANIMAL ALIVE, GODAMN! THIS FUCKER IS SO BADASS HE DOESNT EVEN NEED TO DO SHIT TO KILL YOUR SORRY ASS, IT HANGS OUT IN THE WATERS AND WAITS FOR THINGS TO BUMP INTO IT AND DIE. IT KILLS YOU FASTER AND LULZYIER THAN THE VENOM OF SNAKES, (RAPE)SPIDERS, INSECTS, AND JEWS COMBINED. THE STING OF A BOX JELLYFISH CAN KILL OVER 9000 ADULTS IN UNDER 3 MINS YOU STUPID CUNT.

  • I've never been stung by a regular jellyfish or bluebottle and I hope to keep it that way. Oh BTW I'm Australian too but in Melbourne we have some spiders and snakes, but no crazy tropical venomous beings :S

BTW World's Deadliest Animals, of course it's in Australia LOL

  • and this is why sea turtles exist

  • person: hey dude, I think I s- OH FUCK, OH GOD THAT HURTS,

  • did you see the video? yeap and said that about 100 cases per year SHIT !!! there are fatalities ...indeed far more dangerous than funnel webs as no death reported last decades and even after 1945 from funnel webs deaths were no more than 50 even less.....

  • all this and it doesn't even have a brain

  • Yes I am here from the best show ever the office!

  • The Office sent me here..

  • 2:55 - shit, SHIT!! ITS GOT ME BOYS!! SHIT

  • 30 000 species jelly fish world wide? I read it was less than 300 known but that scientists estimates it might be about 2000. Who's right and who's completely insanely wrong?

  • I don't want to go to the beach anymore...

  • DAMN NATURE, U SCARY

  • i live in darwin D:

  • @HeavyMetalhead86 no, the box jelly is more deadly. Iv been studying marine life for the past 3 years and from what i have learned or been tought the box is more deadly

  • Box Jellies aren't deadly unless you get tangled in something like 10 feet of tentacle, so one would really have to get you in order for it to be lethal. There are much more poisonous ocean critters, like the Blue-Ringed Octopus or Conus Geographus

  • @HeavyMetalhead86 Box Jellyfish are worlds most dangerous animals. xx

  • no wonder the nickname for these things is the Sea Wasp

  • I no longer want to go to Australia. With my luck one would find me and I'd die. I actually know someone who got attacked by like 100 jellyfish all at once. She was on vacation with her husband and fell in the water. Luckily they weren't box jellyfish. She is now terrified by jellyfish.

  • I had sex with a box jellyfish bell.

  • @usedive Did you substitute vinegar for lube?

  • I'm glad you can't see into my body at what I ate today.

  • OF COURSE!! Its gonna sting...u called her "BOX" jellyfish.......u know how offending is it?? =\

  • Here's an idea, DON'T swim in Austrailia :)

  • i anit swimming in that area agin

  • Australia is a epic fun place to live but you must respect what God has put on this continent , As he picked Australia to be home to the most aggressive an deadliest creatures and reptiles in the world.

  • Condom for Chuck Norris

  • Its shape reminds me of the dementors

  • another reason to never visit Australia

  • Of course it's in Australia

  • i have a hyposthosis dont get stung

  • I got stung on my dick... best orgasm ever

  • tat's great & unbelievable

  • And my friends wonder why I don't like swimming in oceans.

  • WHY WOULD THEY FILM PEOPLE SWIMMING WITH IT?!

  • @RealizeReality Jackass 4

  • @Dannydurangi haha

  • @RealizeReality to look cool

  • @RealizeReality Fakes? idk sorry

  • maaaan jellyfish needa learn to control when they should use there stingers...like an on and off switch

  • How scary - It looks just like a plastic bag, as well.

  • Im pretty sure that if we were jellyfish, black people would be box jellys

  • I remember when I was 4 years old in the Outer Banks I once snuck out with one of my friends and a bucket. At high tide, I actually collected Portuguese man o'wars that had washed up on the beach and put them in the bucket. I knew the sting would hurt, but had no idea it would kill. I still avoided the huge ass stingers and put them into a bucket to show my dad. The lecture to follow lasted 1 hour...

  • no venom on earth is as nasty as the box jellyfish

  • lets call sponge bob he will catch them!

  • haha, imagine the camera man listening to her commentary later.

"what?! ........ you guys said it was harmless!!!"

    =S

  • Fascinating creature. Looks so delicate and dainty as it gracefully glides through the water....yet it scares me ******less. The see-through killing machine. lol

  • how did the human get so close to the jellyfish!?

  • its weird how a creature with the deadliest toxic on the planet can look so unremarkable. I mean in most cases nature seems to have given those with deadly toxic unusual or striking looks as a warning, like the poison dart frog which is all blue.

  • Thoose things are the fucking spawn of satan.

  • @Meziathol i thought snakes were the spawn of satan literally since in the bible satan was called the serpent in adam and eve so doesent that make snakes evil i thought so but what u dont understand i that some of the venoumus creatures are givin venoum cuz there small take snakes if not for venoun or for anacondas strength they wouldve been extinct long ago taking this from me a person who is terrifide of snakes

  • jellyfish are so beautiful <3

  • The Box is fascinating!

  • What? Did I just see a Portuguese Manowar? Is that even a jellyfish?

  • great video!

  • Students lets begin our science class: :D

Box jellyfish venom is strong alkali

    Vinegar is strong acid

    Alkali + acid = Neutral

    Neutral = water

So vinegar basically turns venom into water :D

  • Australia has the deadliest creatures in the world for a reason, because its a isolated tough country to live in Animals an sea creatures need to pack massive amounts of venom to kill very fast.

Anyone comes here needs to learn to respect the animals an sea creatures or they will be going home in a body bag bottom line.

  • Where are the sea turtles when you need them?????

    Call out Ninja turtles????

  • Scientists say the sting is equal to that of a blow torch on the skin not to mention the toxin that destroys your organs. People who get stung by it an lived say that the pain was so bad that they tried to drown themselves so that is why I dont swim up north.

  • @vsboy25 to bad we all wished u did!

  • @vsboy25 retard

  • A Friend of me gain hitted by it

  • Huh "it has so many stingers that swimmers don't need to see it to get stung".

Thats like saying a shark " has so many teeth that swimmers don't need to see it to get bitten".

  • @zybch

    haha ur right.

  • @ dont make me mad

dude ur soooo right... haha they got the most poisonous things in the world... ;P

  • ...so does anyone still wanna preserve nature? :P

    lol

  • never mess with this

  • An never mess with me son!!. I'll beat you up with the chain again, and lock you in your room!!.

  • @vsboy25 NEVER MESS WIT THIS BUT WE ALL WANT TO MESS WIT YOU!

  • iv got stung by the box jellyfish

  • @lollapazuza

    wow

    how was it like?

  • wow seriously if you want to kill someone whit poison go to australia to get some venom

you can even choose whitch venom you want from jellyfish,snakes,scorpions,spiders,...

my god australia is fucking poison

  • that thing is an arsehole.

  • i'v got stung by that box jellyfish.

  • did it hurt???

  • How excriciating was it?

  • There's only one thing i can say, if you get stung by a box jelly, pour vinegar over the area affected by the sting , it's meant to neutrilise the venom (so I've been told)

  • Sorry Bob, you have been misinformed.

Vinegar is completely utterly and totally ineffective as a pain reliever or neutralizer of any jellyfish sting.

What vinegar does is to STOP any unfired stingers from firing, preventing the sting from getting worse. Nothing else - that is ALL that vinegar does. Vinegar will not 'undo' the sting.

But that can be enough to save a life.

It does nothing for pain or symptoms for a sting.

If you get stung, you need fast medical help.

  • Do they have anything that will actually neutralize the venom of no, do you have to get medical help to keep you alive? Doesnt pee do something also, like if you pee where you got stung?

  • Vineger is one of the more suggested items to use on a jellyfish sting HOWEVER urine can also be effective so long as it is Acidic. Freshwater usually corrupts and intensifys the sting which is why Saltwater is reccommended. Im not 100% sure but thats whats been said.

  • @DPat6590 well i don't think that will help, most people pass out from the pain before they manage to do anything.

  • @slk320k i disagree slk. i live in broome western australia. I have seen local aboriginal get stung all over his torso. he rubbed sand in it (big mistake) and then me and a mate offered him vinegar. I didnt think it would do much but it totally nuetralised his pain straight away. severity may differ but always carry vinegar it works and ive seen it firsthand.

  • @wado777

Very interesting. You were there, so you saw this first hand.

I am surprised by what you say, but if you actually saw it happen like that, then it is hard to argue against it. I am going to go and do a little investigating on this subject to see if I can turn up any similar reports.

I will let you know if I can find anything out about it.

  • @slk320k I was honestly very suprised that it stopped it straight away too.

In broome the average size we see in the water would be about the same as a two litre ice cream container. I think cairns they grow alot bigger. that may have something to do with it.

  • @slk320k I was taught to use vinegar in a first aid class I took.

  • @slk320k I took an ARC first aid course and we got taught to use vinegar for sea anemones, jellyfish, and Portugese men-of-war.

  • @wado777 I agree with slk. Vinegar will not help ease the pain but will deactivate the remaining nematocysts on a box jellyfish tentacle.

On Physalia Physalis (Portuguese man of war) or Cyanea capillata (Lion main) jellyfish, vinegar will do the exact opposite and activate the nematocyst, injecting the rest of the venom and increase pain.

  • @Sommerplager lucky we arent talking about man of war stings then dick head. do you live in the tropics. thought not.

  • @slk320k

    you're rigth

"Domestic vinegars should be poured liberally over the tentacles to inactivate stinging cells as soon as possible. The tentacles may then be removed. Artificial respiration and cardiac massage may be required.

Where antivenom is unavailable, pressure-immobilisation may be used on limbs after inactivation of stinging cells, while the patient is being transported to the nearest medical centre."

    thats what the officials say

  • @slk320k

    you're right

"Domestic vinegars should be poured liberally over the tentacles to inactivate stinging cells as soon as possible. The tentacles may then be removed. Artificial respiration and cardiac massage may be required.

Where antivenom is unavailable, pressure-immobilisation may be used on limbs after inactivation of stinging cells, while the patient is being transported to the nearest medical centre."

    thats what the officials say

  • @slk320k you are right, i got stung on the face. They poured vinegar over it to no avail..

  • @slk320k you are right, i got stung on the face. They poured vinegar over it to no avail..

  • @slk320k Oxycontin is the only relief I received. Morphine was said to cause me to me loose consciousness and heart failure do to my throat closing. I took the Oxycontin 80mg the doctor gave me. I lived 2 weeks I felt sharp pains it was horrible but fuck it Australian I will never go there to win again.

  • It does not neutralize the venom, nothing does. It does keep it remaining stinger cells (nematacysts) from firing tho...

  • @h3ll0b0b You shouldn`t post advice on how to deal with a jellyfish sting when you don`t have a fucking clue. If you get burned by a box jellyfish you die within minutes. It`s the deadliest jellyfish on earth and your lousy advice on how to treat it is laughable. Educate yourself before you write your next comment!!

  • @Yellyist yea people think snakes are worst than this but if your not carefull you could die

  • @h3ll0b0b sorry thats a myth mate :P

  • @h3ll0b0b vinegar just neutralises the stingers, preventing them from releasing and more venom, but interesting case

  • Box jellyfish are almost invisible in water so if you go swimming watch out for these killers

  • That's it. I am going to punch the shit out of these things *flies to Australia*

Rawr, time to die unusual box!!!! D:< *Punches Box Jelly*

    HyeeaaaHAHAHA, I win!!

    *Dies*

    Dammit!! D:<

  • ..... i dont want to see one of these things near me

  • ....... i was lucky i went swimming in the sea in a another country but there again i had a big knife with me and i could swear i saw some thing like this

  • And what would you have done with the knife? Little fyi, stinger cells can fire even after the jelly is dead. Many people have been stung by pieces of tentacle that have broken off from the jelly.

  • I kno i just got stung by a jelly fish today

  • :O ive been stung by one i almost DIED omg it hurt soooooooooo freaken BADLY just be carful in the water

  • wow

  • @xoxo2cutet4uXXX you really did?

  • The tentacles look like strings of floss XD

  • If they were the size of the lion's mane, they'd be able to kill a blue whale, easily, in a minute flat with their spode forsaken venom.

  • 1:59 OMG SCARY SO CLOSE but its amazing how fragile it is. its flesh can be ripped by just ONE struggling shrimp.

  • then lets strugle it

  • in norway we are lucky because we have sun creme against all kinds of jellyfishes including box jellyfish.

    it works like this:

first you have to take the creme all over the body

then you have to get in the water and meet a jellyfish and then test if the tentacles hurt answer is NO!

i have been swiming over hundreds of those jellys and have not been stinged because of that creme.

    GENIUS?

    sorry for my bad english

  • you chat shit

  • this better work or im gonna get hold of the bottle and throw it at the first jelly fish i see

  • como odio este animal :S

  • hey i wanna know wat type of jellyfish is at 38 sec..

  • That's a Portuguese Man-of-War, not really a jellfish, but a colony of tiny creatures that work together make up the float, stingers, etc. They are named for their triangular "floats" that resemble old Portuguese warships. I've seen one in Galveston; I think they're fairly common along the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic. (Pacific too?). Their tentacles can trail 30 or so feet behind them, and they give a nasty (sometimes deadly, to very sensitive people) sting.

  • thanx for the info...i was curious coz one of my cousin was stung by it on the beaches of mombasa.i was there too luckily they i wasnt stung.....

  • I have a few uploads on blue bottles (portugese man o war) jellyfish.

Look for my upload of the Bondi Beach mass stinging. Its an amazing creature..

  • @slk320k If I knew this was swimming in mombassa I would have never got into the water at all !!

  • it is blue bottle or Prtugese man 'o"war alsou very dangerous jelly ( technicaly it is not even a jellyfish it some kind of polyp) used to live down in Key west and saw few , fortunately never was stung

  • I feel sorry for the people who lives in Australia due to the deadly animals.

  • i watched 7 pounds with will smith and he killed him self with box jellyfish so if you guys are wondering about it watch that movie btw it is scary

  • That's it, I'm not swimming in the ocean.

  • thats what i told my dad. This video proves my point about jellyfish: they are scary

  • lol, i don't blame you

  • I was looking for a video like this in my video, but i couldn't find it so instead i had to use stills

  • nice vid.. but the song =/ =P

  • i thought box jellies were about 1 cm long?

  • No that's it's cousin the Irikaundji.

  • This animal makes me scared to swim. :S And I know it's only in parts of the ocean...but it still makes me concious.

  • was that necessary?

  • Ignore him! But yea Things like this is why im so councious about swimming in the ocean! So many weird fish that live there its scary thinking of the fact that ur swimming in waters that the roam free in!

  • i acutally happened to love dis creature,in my GSCE im gunna study for dis

  • @LilJapBoi hmm i wanna go swimming with it when i become a marine bio this is acually the animal that makes me wanna become a marine that and seasnakes
