  • cool video

  • Hey very cool video, I absolutely loved Vang Vieng.... Amazing caves, Lagoons and of course the awesome tubing river!

Your video really gives a peaceful view on the place aswell, love it!

I ended up writing a song about this amazing place, it started in Asia after a night out and a $30 guitar, and was finished and filmed back home in Australia.... Check it out!

  • Does anyone know the name of those bungalows? that view is amazing!!!

  • youre a lucky man, i hope you know this

  • What time of year is this?

  • @BernyTravers This was January of 2006.

  • @Cvillemac thanks, I'm going in March! Feeling hot hot hot!

  • what the heck when the guy was swinging the thingy why his legs were moving like crazy anyway that was pretty funny

  • I was born there LAOS ,40 some years ago, but I never got opportunity to discover and venture like U guys did. Sure it's beautiful and relaxed and lots fun... I jealous of U... Hah hah . Great video , I enjoy it and makes me home sick 2!!! THANKS MILLION !

  • WoW. Congrats to the Macdonald couple, heard it was your HMoon< hahaha, great videos..

  • 5 stars video my friends. Thanks you for sharing your amazing vacation experiences.

  • lovely videos, looks like ye had an awesome time in Laos. The accomodation ye got was excellent. i dunno though, its called Laos from top to bottom, and (only imo) you cant call something that and be in Vang Vieng without getting in depth about tubing. It is the areas largest attraction without doubt, sending tourists down the river in tubes where their are bars all along the banks is what caused the area of Vang Vieng to form into a town, it was just a bunch of little settlements until then :)

  • Nice for a day or two pit stop when on a bike trip but it wears thin pretty rapidly with me. The scenery is stunning, and there is plenty to do.

Avoid the island bars at nights.............full of drunken ass-holes

  • Thank you for sharing.

Looking at your video: rubber tubing & sharp rock cave... looks dangerous. I may not try it. :-)

  • nice to see how you guys enjoyed it! for me the best part about it was being drunk and having fun all day and night. some might not like it, however that is the main attraction there

  • Drinking is not the main attraction, it's the breathtaking landscape. If it were not so beautiful no one would be there drinking.

  • Love the video and thank you for sharing. Don't let the negativity detract from your journeys and don't let people define what traveling should be for you. You have a travel blog?

  • Oh don't worry about us, we don't care one bit what people have to say about what we should or should not do. I have posted a lot travel info on virtualtourist under "waxbag", terrible name. I have some small articles in our blog connected with the YouTube account, find it on our home page. Thanks for the comments.

  • wow, this looks amazing. im going there soon. could you PLEASE tell me that accomodation where you stayed? the view from the balcony looks amazing! do you think its a good place to stay?

  • I don't think that house is there anymore. You are right though it was the best place to stay and for only $4 per night.

  • Thanks a lot for your great videos. I took my two children and wife to Laos last july but missed a lot of the places you visited because it was raining very heavy. Want to know what was the month you visited Laos so I can plan better next trip?

  • Cvillemac: nice, classy response to the hater. Also, thanks a lot for these. My husband and I are going this summer and this is very very helpful.

  • You are welcome. Enjoy your trip.

  • Laos used be friendly country , let's say 10 year ago , but eventually got tired of backpackers and their money , coz some local assholes got rich already , and starting having itchy asses , and looking down on western punks..however since last year's economic crises they immediately switched back to their tourist friendly masks again

  • Im going there sometime in the beginning of 2010.. like how u "sell" this place.. my friend went there.. but seeing this, and getting an idea of how it's like being there.. it's the best:) can't wait

  • What do they know of Laos and other Asian countries they travel through aimlessly? How do they care about the cultures and the people of those countries they cross? Money buys you a nice holiday and promises a lot of FUN. But this is has nothing to do with travelling. This is a mere consuption, just like everything else! How sad...

  • I hear what you are saying and understand your point, but I don't think you can possibly say that about us. We know quite a bit about Laos and other countries which is why we tried to make informative videos about them. Perhaps your comments would be better suited on another video. It's sounding a bit negative...

  • "Having fun"...is that what travelling is all about?! Vang Vieng is another place that's been totally spoilt by this so called "backpacking scene". And what a scene! Groups of blasé and ignorant young Westerners who think it's cool to get pissed all day and behave like spoilt kids they actually are.

  • This is, unfortunately, true for many travelers through this area. They spend the day drinking and watching episodes of friends. My wife and I explored the surrounding area seeing much of the country side and many villages.

  • Well, I'm glad you had a good time in laos, it is nice to live in such a modernize country and vacation in such a civilization country like laos....nice...to me, I'm more interesting in the high land of laos.

  • Thanks very much for the video. Man, I haven't seen those places in years. Last time I was @ that cave, it must have been 22 years.

  • When was the last time you vacation in Laos? I'm dreaming of seeing the Khone Waterfalls in southern Laos and swimming with the Mekong River dolphins.

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • Looks like a good ducumentary!!

keep it up good work!! ;)

  • I love Laos, it is charming yet wonderful, I miss it, I want to visit Vangvieng some day,,,,,,,,keep up your good work,,

  • That's a good vacation!

  • Man, how did you guys just keeping traveling? is it personal vacation or part of your job? I was born in Laos. never been back to Laos.

  • very cool. i can't wait to go :D

  • indeed laos is a wonderful country

  • hey, you should try going to Panama the San Blas is beautiful.

  • We spent about a month in Panama last year including 2 weeks sailing around the San Blas. I'll get to the video at some point. Thanks for the comment.
