We still use this generation iMac at school. I think they're 20 inch. Now they're using Mac Minis a lot. They got a bunch of the old model last year and I saw a few of the current one now.

Mine is worse. It sometimes doesn't recognize hardware on boot up. To log in to the servers, it takes 5 minutes or so. BTW, did I mention only 256 MB of ram?

i run final cut pro and express fine on my mac mini with 1gb ram 1.83ghz core duo upgrading it to a 2.16ghz CPU soon though

Not really, if you have the Wireless Mighty mouse + keyboard , and Wireless internet you dont have to plug in anything but the power cable. WIth a PC, you need a transmitter for the wireless mouse + keyboard (USB or whatever), on most PC's you'll have to plug in a USB or PCI adapter for wireless internet as well..

That was the initial boot. After you have setup the machine it is much quicker. Generally about 20 secs or less.

i have the wireless mighty mouse, and the wired, they have both a different run on them, the mighty does not move accurately as a wired due to the laser technology which is pathetic on the wireless mighty mouse.

Very good, though i do agree with ManchesterBudo, it was a bit poitless to show us the mac boot up in real time... great start to the video..

i'll give this a 4 out of 5, if you dindn't have the real time boot process this i would have gave it a 5. but hey a 4 is still good. :)

I really liked the start of this video but it was a bit pointless watching after about 1min in. I dont want to watch a guy unpack an imac but if its done in fast time with a cool effect and some nice inserts then its worth taking a look at. I dont want to watch a Mac bootup in real time...improve the end dude.

Maybe speed up the boot sequence like you did with the unpack and just freee frame things like the osx logo then lets see you using the os. Some screen shots of widgets etc.
