I got a really urgent question, please answer! My family and I are thinking about renting a challenger for our summer vacation. Do you think that there's enough room in the back for a 6,3ft - 6,4ft tall person to sit comfortably and is there enough space in the boot for 3 trunks(and maybe couple of bags)?
This car needs some work on its handling. Too much drifting on turns at high speed. Needs All Wheel Drive. Its a beauty but not as deadly. I love it but there something missing. I just hope they dont change the retro design due to a sale effect. The only problem would be the losing of races and the other features. This car needs some work still and All Wheel Drive.
@ttaylormm The challenger is already the heaviest out of the current 3 muscle cars and adding an all wheel drive system will further compound the already disadvantaged weight difference.

I have a 2011 automatic, same car. I got the 0-60 timer on evic, and did it in 4.82 seconds, stock. Whoever said 0-60 in 5.7 seconds doesnt know how to drive.
I have one of these RT's in dark red with cloth and the auto. I test drove the mustang and the camero. For me the winning factor was comfort. The challenger "felt" heavier and safer, rode better and has much more room. You would rather have this car for long, all day driving trips regardless of what company you usually go with.
Here in Brazil we´d pay US$120,000 for this car. The minimal wage is US$3.5/hour.
I would like to understand why is kind of difficult for an American to buy a car like those (Mustang,Camaro,Challenger,etc.) Considering buying power for an American to buy a Challenger would be the same that a Brazilian pays for a Toyota Corolla here for exemple. I also wonder why someone would pay US$500.000 for a Mustang Fastback (Ebay Motors´s auction -Troy Trepannier) =10brand new different color Mustangs

@anpmech because mustangs look too much alike from year to year so you can have a 2011 and visually looks almost identical to the older models also there isnt as much room in them. ppl like the challenger because #1 it looks badass #2 it is larger "and heavier" but has more room for taller ppl like me and the trunk is big #3 it really dosent do bad on gas. i know ppl with the r/t who can hit mid 20s mpg. #4 dont matter to some, but u just gotta love that HEMI sound. unique like the mustang gt.
I own this car.Love it!! I had the interior customized by changing up the color of my leather seats. Instead of the charcoal, I had white inserts added with challenger logo stitching and wow it popped! Another nice touch I decided on was the challenger stainless steel door sill guards. Over all, the car is amazing!!!!! Fast and very comfortable. Taking a drive, listening to the amazing stereo and feeling that hemi as I shift is what I look foward to...only on a nice day of course.
Great car and video. Way to go Dodge.......I test drove one and fell in love with it. To me it's not just a numbers game, 0-60 times, HP, axle ratios, styling, its the experience once you get behind the wheel. My son has a 2009 Mustang, nice car, but not the same. The same thing when I take my '68 Charger R/T for a spin, it's an experience in itself, just like the new Challengers, nothing else comes close.

@infernoJr just because other cars perform better on paper doesnt always make them the better buy. there has to be that emotional connection to the car, and for me that was only seen with the challenger. i have no problem saying the new mustang or SS SHOULD be faster, however out in the real world not everyone can drive and these cars are all close enough in acceleration numbers that if someone in a "better vehicle in all aspects" misses a shift or cant launch right, my "inferior" R/T will win

Fuck yeah I love my challenger!!! Though I wish it was a v8 but with the economy now adays as is high. That's why I chose the v6 which I still kinda regret... Then again I'm not gonna be racing.... Or will I? :)

I am also a fellow Mustang Guy, however, when i first saw the Challenger, i instantly knew, Dodge was making a statement with this Challenger. Its drop dead sexy from all sides, in person the car is alot better to appreciate, i just have 1 gripe: 5.7L only pushing out 375 ponies? Ford managed 412HP from a 5.0L! i think in order for Dodge to keep its head above water, HP will need to be increased while MPG goes up also. They can squeeze more HP from 5.7L definitely and id love to see it
@6UNLEASHED Power divided by displacement is a meaningless measurement. A more important number would be power divided by engine weight. A smaller displacement engine isn't automatically going to be physically smaller or lighter than a larger displacement engine. For example the engine from the Zo6 Corvette and BMW M5, the Z06 V8 weighs less than the V10, makes similar power and a hell of a lot more torque. Numbers I got for the Challenger is 485 lbs and 430 lbs for the Mustang.
@Mikejesmike The only issue that Ford manages to avoid is the weight issue...even with the 4.6L V8 Ford still managed to place the Mustang 2nd against the Camaro and Challenger, and the Mustang made the least HP! dont get me wrong, i love the Challenger..i just think Dodge can make some adjustments and improve the Challenger in so many different ways
@6UNLEASHED Of the 3 cars I like the Challenger the best for the styling In my opinion it's the best looking car you can get for it's price under, and I agree they can do some improvements like dropping the weight down under 3,800, I said the Mustang's V8 is 430 but from what I know the block and maybe the heads are aluminum, I don't know too much about the Challenger RT's V8, like what it's made of but I would be interested to know it's weight if the head and block were aluminum.
@Mikejesmike i agree 100%, the Challenger has the best Retro-styling in the market today. Weight is a cars biggest enemy, not sure if Dodge intented the Challenger to be the "Big Boy" of the bunch, im pretty certain Ford switched out the cast-iron block for an aluminum set up, best way to save weight and increase HP with the 5L. What i do like is dodge offering 3 engine choices, however, a V8 to me should only be in these cars, The Challenger has the potential, Dodge just needs to make it work.
@ratkocos Oh yeah, imagine having a 6" 7' American basketball player getting into a tiny cabin of a Lotus, and having to repair it every week because of crap quality, Lotus ride is terrible uncomfortable. No American cars are not heavier than comparable European or Jap crap cars. Even old cars are far lighter weight than modern cars, Ford Custom Line from 1957 is 3307 lbs, a 2011 BMW M3 coupe weights a staggering 3704 lbs! (400 lbs less than RT Chally, tough) Quite a difference. Don't prejudge.

At a local road track I visit I have smoked camaros and the new mustangs thru the curves and straights with ease.When the Challenger SRT8 is lowered it handles like it is on rails with the right tires.
I often go to car shows and noticed crowds around my car , sorta sad as the new camaros just get kids thinking its bumble bee.To each their own!

dam this car is so beautiful.... its one of those cars that arent the fastest but the looks will overcome .... its not as fast as the new 5.0 or camaro but i would choose this car above all !!!

I am also a fellow Mustang Guy, however, when i first saw the Challenger, i instantly knew, Dodge was making a statement with this Challenger. Its drop dead sexy from all sides, in person the car is alot better to appreciate, i just have 1 gripe: 5.7L only pushing out 375 ponies? Ford managed 412HP from a 5.0L! i think in order for Dodge to keep its head above water, HP will need to be increased while MPG goes up also. They can squeeze more HP from 5.7L definitely and id love to see it

@6UNLEASHED Power divided by displacement is a meaningless measurement. A more important number would be power divided by engine weight. A smaller displacement engine isn't automatically going to be physically smaller or lighter than a larger displacement engine. For example the engine from the Zo6 Corvette and BMW M5, the Z06 V8 weighs less than the V10, makes similar power and a hell of a lot more torque. Numbers I got for the Challenger is 485 lbs and 430 lbs for the Mustang.

@Mikejesmike The only issue that Ford manages to avoid is the weight issue...even with the 4.6L V8 Ford still managed to place the Mustang 2nd against the Camaro and Challenger, and the Mustang made the least HP! dont get me wrong, i love the Challenger..i just think Dodge can make some adjustments and improve the Challenger in so many different ways

@6UNLEASHED Of the 3 cars I like the Challenger the best for the styling In my opinion it's the best looking car you can get for it's price under, and I agree they can do some improvements like dropping the weight down under 3,800, I said the Mustang's V8 is 430 but from what I know the block and maybe the heads are aluminum, I don't know too much about the Challenger RT's V8, like what it's made of but I would be interested to know it's weight if the head and block were aluminum.

@Mikejesmike i agree 100%, the Challenger has the best Retro-styling in the market today. Weight is a cars biggest enemy, not sure if Dodge intented the Challenger to be the "Big Boy" of the bunch, im pretty certain Ford switched out the cast-iron block for an aluminum set up, best way to save weight and increase HP with the 5L. What i do like is dodge offering 3 engine choices, however, a V8 to me should only be in these cars, The Challenger has the potential, Dodge just needs to make it work.

@ratkocos Oh yeah, imagine having a 6" 7' American basketball player getting into a tiny cabin of a Lotus, and having to repair it every week because of crap quality, Lotus ride is terrible uncomfortable. No American cars are not heavier than comparable European or Jap crap cars. Even old cars are far lighter weight than modern cars, Ford Custom Line from 1957 is 3307 lbs, a 2011 BMW M3 coupe weights a staggering 3704 lbs! (400 lbs less than RT Chally, tough) Quite a difference. Don't prejudge.

I own a 09 SRT8 six speed modded soon to be super charged,460hp, and love this car the new vette just sits as I drive the Challenger daily now.
At a local road track I visit I have smoked camaros and the new mustangs thru the curves and straights with ease.When the Challenger SRT8 is lowered it handles like it is on rails with the right tires.
I often go to car shows and noticed crowds around my car , sorta sad as the new camaros just get kids thinking its bumble bee.To each their own!

Mercedes E class suspension, leather seats, sat navigatrion and radio, stability manegment, traction control, power everything, 5 star crash test safety rating, huge wheels and brakes, or is none of that "progressed"

I had a 67 Camaro in high School and I loved it. But I don't get these modern retro models today just as I don't think the new Mini Coopers are any better than Honda Civics Type R's, Golf GTi's or Audi A3's. I think retro models are not worth it. Either drive the original or buy a modern car.
