omgg i had elk for my first cheese shift and then he just worked the adolescents. i just got back from rca this week and our stuff was def not that nice wtf....
First off.... that is not what the students get...... you don't get a small lap pack, not only, but not all students get a knife.... and the compression sack for us was the bag that the wiggy came in. kinda misleading to parents.
and I know because I graduated from the program. you don't get snow boots, you get the hiking shoes that everyone was issued..... really really sad if this is what you're feeding to parents.
however, the staff got actual backpacks.... not the rolling packs. We had to wait till like phase 4 before we got a ready-pack. Which believe it or not, preferred the rolling pack over the stuffing pack, easier to make smaller, and easier to position on my back... only benefit to the ready-pack was the shoulder pads.
When I was there, and pardon the names, all I knew them as..... Marmot, Keely, Spirit Knife, and Chris... They all stated that it was their own personal gear. I did ask them about how they were able to get their job doing this of all things.... they mentioned different degrees in psych, and wilderness survival. They did mention that they had to go on a "hell week" to rule out the weak, but that was it.
what about climbing bear

Staff had to earn their packs too..I hated those survival packs. this stuff is what the staff can have when they first start.
