A day a day. If God made the universe in 6 days than he did. If days in Genesis does not mean a 24 hour day, than does that mean the word day in the rest of the Bible not mean 24 hours too? For example....it flooded for 40 DAYS. Jesus rose on the 3rd DAY. Etc. How would we know if a day really means a day if we cant take the account literally? If he intended for us to interpret the word "day" in the Genesis account, than we would have to interpret "day" in the rest of the Bible. I dont think so.

Just for kicks... A day doesn't have to reflect a 24 hour period. A day reflects the amount of time it takes a planet or moon to make a single rotation with respect to a star. On Jupiter for instance, a days lasts 243 days, relative to the earth's single day. And our planet and star(the sun) are small when compared to other solar systems in the heavens. Mercury doesn't rotate on its axis. The sun doesn't set on Mercury at all. The same planet face points toward the sun.
He doesn't state it here although he did in other programs. The Hebrew word for day used in Genesis is Yom. Yom can be translated 3 ways in English. It can mean a 12 hour period, a 24 hour period or an indefinate period of time. So Genesis could well be saying it was a long period of time.We try to place out concepts of time on God who is timeless. Was it a literal 24hour day or a long period of time? I don't really know for sure but have no problem either way.

He states that it is only genetically possible (he uses some big words) that bacteria and other micro organisms can evolve. Animals and such can't. It's mathematically impossible. I have watched all the videos till now.I am a strong believer in Christ. I do NOT think Kent has been gentle! To me, it looks like he has been condescending without any proof of his claims except that its from the bible. I have seen Hugh Ross compare science and the bible quite accurately and noticed him biting his tongue a lot for Kent to speak. Now one thing I have not seen is Kent TEST what is in the bible, while Dr Hugh Ross has tested and found great findings of the amazingness of the Lord.

The dust issue proves we didnt go to the moon. The united states sent many different rover to the moon before man ever set (foot?) on it. A day a day. If God made the universe in 6 days than he did. If days in Genesis does not mean a 24 hour day, than does that mean the word day in the rest of the Bible not mean 24 hours too? For example....it flooded for 40 DAYS. Jesus rose on the 3rd DAY. Etc. How would we know if a day really means a day if we cant take the account literally? If he intended for us to interpret the word "day" in the Genesis account, than we would have to interpret "day" in the rest of the Bible. I dont think so.

Just for kicks... A day doesn't have to reflect a 24 hour period. A day reflects the amount of time it takes a planet or moon to make a single rotation with respect to a star. On Jupiter for instance, a days lasts 243 days, relative to the earth's single day. And our planet and star(the sun) are small when compared to other solar systems in the heavens. Mercury doesn't rotate on its axis. The sun doesn't set on Mercury at all. The same planet face points toward the sun.

He doesn't state it here although he did in other programs. The Hebrew word for day used in Genesis is Yom. Yom can be translated 3 ways in English. It can mean a 12 hour period, a 24 hour period or an indefinate period of time. So Genesis could well be saying it was a long period of time.We try to place out concepts of time on God who is timeless. Was it a literal 24hour day or a long period of time? I don't really know for sure but have no problem either way.

He states that it is only genetically possible (he uses some big words) that bacteria and other micro organisms can evolve. Animals and such can't. It's mathematically impossible. Hugh Ross is implying that since he studies astronomy, then he is the right person to interpret the time frame of when the world is created based on astronomy and the laws of physics. For me, Hugh Ross is playing God, and he knows he is, just like Charles Darwin. This is the last comment. Because I claim Jesus as my Savior I have committed Hatred? If I said Budda it would have been acceptable. Everyone has a right to religious beliefs but Christians. I know a Hindu. If I claim Jesus as massiah she is offended. Her God is Lord Budda but that's ok. My God is mine, Hers is hers. Neither would ever Blasphemy our Gods. We are no diff. When I have to scroll for 3 min. to leave a Comment it's enough to tell me a lot of people argue here. I by no means think science advancement isn't great. It's cured many people. Even helped my Phuemonia the last two weeks. I have seen many instant healings. I have seen many slow, Miraculous healings (usually Lives). I am not defending myself against a rediculous quesion? I can't heal anyone. Neither could my doctor, The antibiotics did that. All the healing/miracles have came from Gods Mercy!

soulunsettled, when you can lay your hands on an amputee and a leg or an arm grows back, then talk to me about prayer healing! you need to grow up and take responsibility for your own life and stop living by this antiquated belief system of christianity. it promotes division and accomplishes nothing positive that you can't do on your very own... with a little common sense.

Promotes division on the side of the athiest I'd say. I've been friends with people but as soon as we started talking about God they distanced themselves from me simply because they believe in evolution.
Me, I have no problems with evolution. Evidence to prove it wrong is all around us. If that's what you believe then it's between you and God. Some people seem like they get angry because of that. ;o

Foolish and wicked generation! Ross has great findings for the Lord? Jesus hung his head & Said it is finished. Did we need anything added to what he accomplished? Amazing things are Souls That come to Repentance.SOULS SOULS SOULS! I'd hate to stand be fore God with a test tube & Him Judge my works. I would rather Have touched lives, Changed them. Scientist lead common people into Confusion & Atheism. They are sick of Arguing over These things, They say forget Christianity. Win a Soul, Lose 100?

A Holy life means seperation from the world. Their T.V. Events, Morale, Etc. We are called to be set apart. Saying I believe in God doesn't mean your filled with the HolySpirit. The Majority of Americans believe in God but Voted a Muslim for President. What would Jesus think of Obama. The health care will cost lives & souls yet you all are stuck on theology & Science. Forget that. Live a live of Prayer, Fasting & Witnessing (The Gospel, Act 2:28) God will bless in the Spirit. Question Jesus!!!

Also, The Scipture says that the word of God is sharper than any two edged sword. Not butter Knife, Not Test tube. It's meant to disect on the heart. Give gifts of the Spirit. In Acts, Its simple! Jesus always Healed & Taught about the Lost. He's not worried about science. Tell a desperate drug addict with HIV about your Telescope & They Die & Burn. Lead them to God, Annoint them and They Physically live too. The Gospel isn't what your preaching!Believing doesn't mean you know Jesus Intamitately

I know that in Jesus's teachings, He never disusses science. He never dealt much even with physical things. Jesus said I am the Word & He taught Spiritual things. You can disect the bible all you life, That doesn't mean your born again like the scriptures say. Most believe in easy Believism. How do you scientifically explain me laying hands on people & Them being healed? Be cause I gave up my money (Tatooing). Live in a bad trailor, Little food or bill money. Except I Know Jesus! Mark 16: 15-18

I've watched enough of this to know that I would attend hovinds church. Ross hasn't even mentioned if he goes. Kent meantions the blood and prayer, zross just keeps talking about test tube experiments. I would never allow him to preach at my church. I do not believe he couldn't preach. He's stuck on Stars & conforming the Bible to match. Kent is gentle, Concerned for souls. That's why he say's it's Dangerous to add to the bible. I would say Jesus wants to count Souls, Not stars. Who wins souls?K

I have watched all the videos till now.I am a strong believer in Christ. I do NOT think Kent has been gentle! To me, it looks like he has been condescending without any proof of his claims except that its from the bible. I have seen Hugh Ross compare science and the bible quite accurately and noticed him biting his tongue a lot for Kent to speak. Now one thing I have not seen is Kent TEST what is in the bible, while Dr Hugh Ross has tested and found great findings of the amazingness of the Lord.

Also, there are more ways to preach the authenticity of God than in a church... Man was looking for science to escape from Gods way, only to find Him being there the whole time while every cosmological breakthrough traces back to the Bible. I think its pretty funny of the Lord...

And Kent doesn't really need to test the Bible. He needs to test HIS INTERPRETATION of the Bible.

well watch is seminars video on his site and maybe you'll see is interpretation of the video. Nothing scientist could do or prove of how everthing came to be. The big bang theory is totally wrong and makes no sense. You don't need to to God to know that. God created everything and closest interpretation to God word is the Holy Bible.

Kent Hovind is making very presumptive accusations against fellow-Christians who disagree with him, ranging from "heresy" to detracting "people from God". He's imposing his view as a prerequisite to knowing God and being saved and is not striving for mutual understanding or Christian unity at all. I don't believe the age of the earth or the way God created it has anything to do with the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, in whom we have salvation and forgiveness of sin.

I liked what Hugh Ross was saying from the start till he said that the God that transcends all time and space and is more knowledgeable than all, can only be found in the Bible . .. thats not true, all monotheistic religions believe in such a God

hawke, LOL. So true. I applaud Ross because he is not making this guy look ill-prepared (Kent is doing that all by himself). I think this is what sets Dr. Ross apart from the rest of the pack; he doesn't get all bent out of shape and rude. He has the heart of a teacher, he's not out to win, he's out to teach.
