I know so many Israelis who left Israel and now live in Los Angeles, southwest Portland, OR, or Newton, Mass. I asked them, if Israel really is such a candyland why did your family leave? And they all say things like what this woman said, or they say that their parents didn't want them serving in the IDF, or they mention that the Israeli economy is shit (not necessarily because of BDS but because Israel spends so much on its army and illegal settlements). Very interesting.

Israel is a racist state at its core just like apartheid was. It deems itself to be the homeland for just one ethnicity meanwhile violently opressing all others.
Israel needs to be dismantled and a new state needs to come in its place, one where religion/ethnicity is left out of politics. a state where everyone living there has an equal say in its future, a state in which arabs and jews can live side by side.

Ofcourse there is. To be jewish - that's a matter of religion and traditions. To be israeli - that's a matter of citizenship. My GrandMa 4 example is jewish but not an israeli - she lives in Bulgaria. And in Israel there are more than a million arabs - they are israelis but not jewish.

wow, this girl has NO idea what she's talking about. while israeli costs are high, their salaries are still fairly high. its considered a first world country. furthermore, tuition goes to a max of ~8000$, which is not that much at all. further, the death rate in israel per thousand is significantly lower than the us (not lower than england though)

Hi MV,some genuine things are often rehearsed abit. Can I gently say that Israel is not my state nor are they "my" leaders, Im English. My Uncle&Aunt both speak fluent Arabic. I agree that this awful sitution puts the whole world at risk& as a non-Jewish European (born long after WW2), I feel very responsible that "my" people did not make Jewish ppl safe in Europe& did not protect them& that as you say the State of Israel would not exist except for the wickedness of European anti-Semitism.

Wow, great dialog. I think that economic factors are behind almost everyone's decision to leave (or leave for a while anyway - Israelis never really leave). I do however think that the "stress" has a lot less to do with not knowing whether you'll come back at the end of the day, and more with whether you'll be able to pay the bills at the end of the month.
Nothing beats Israelis' spontinuity and love for life - it's a wonderful trait.
