I wonder if they're going to remove the commander and its orbital strike? They removed it from bf3 so who knows if they will. Commanders played a key role in 2142 as sometimes the only way to destroy enemies was to use an orbital strike. And don't forget that they want to keep the futuristic feel - bombardment from satellites, who doesn't think that's futuristic?

@InfectedGarry Battlefield 1942 was considered Battlefield 1 and vietnam was considered an updated battlefield. It was an updated battlefield 1942 graphics. Battlefield 2 was the true successor with a new engine, hence battle field 2. Frostbite2 Battlefield 3.

I don't know... DICE itself said that Battlefield 2142 was overall "not a full game." They also said that people tend to prefer conventional warfare to the science fiction world, and they were going to stay away from it. For those who thought 2142 was a fail, BF2143 would be the same. They released 2142 on the BF2 engine, and if they release BF2143 on the BF3 engine, it will be itentical. Please, you don't have to agree, in fact, if you disagree tell me so :)

Before 2142 came out, there was an easter egg in an DLC pack for BF2......That easter egg showed a car on the map with the license plate number 2142. The same thing kinda happend in the new DLC for BF3 called Back To Karkand...i think. On the BF3 DLC there is a crate on Wake Island with the number 2143 on it. So, i think its comming since they kinda are doing the same thing again with the BF3 DLC, sorry for my bad english. ;)

id love to see this remade with frostbite. we have fairly modern ww2 themed games, like cod5. But i've never seen a game set in the future that actually has awesome graphics and effects like BF3's that really makei t feel liek a battle. even a mech walkign down a street would be epic in frostbite, let alone a huge titan explosion.
