  • nice!

  • ok cool...so you do need a computer to run the VCM?

the machines are running there own sequences with a master TC...

then run to the PC/MAC usb bus to VCM

so you could not work it with out the computer...

it really looks super sweet...nice tracks too - Ive listened to a few now...

  • Like how the video is 909 long!

  • @boddah311 - hadn't actually noticed that!

  • awesome!

can you tell me how the machines are hooked up?

the Laptop is the sequencer right? with the vestax controlling the chanels (PC)....

Im interested in the Vestax - just not to sure how my machines would hook up, I'm running an MPC2500 currently as master, they just midi cable in to it...

  • @MrBoxxed - Correct. The midi is going out into the hardware to control the synths, the machinedrum is running its internal sequencer, and they all go separately into the computer. Inside there, there is some eq and compression, then they are all bussed down into six groups - which is essentially what the VCM controls.

Since then I have added a monomachine, so even less is being done inside the computer.

  • @ProofNZ

I have an Imac with USB/firewire and apogee duet with no midi in or out. I also have an axiom 61 with midi in and out and an access virus xl with midi in and out. I can send midi from axiom via midi out to midi in on access and then audio out from access to apogee interface. But that's only the notes I'm playing. I want to be able to send midi notes from ableton to access and control access virus with ableton. Can you please message me adamlangolf@yahoo.com with any help?

  • nice gear we have here! good taste man

  • what are you using?....equipment??

  • well done ..nice vid ;)

  • Really nice! I'd love to know what the silver-greyish device at the top (not the monomachine) is called. Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance! Again, great track!

  • @UDSOUDS That would be a VCM600 - from Vestax - well underrated piece of kit.

  • nice stuff man...thank gott there are still hardware junkies on planet earth!

  • @martinnonstatic Always enjoy playing with new toys!

  • do the dark energy and the evolver work well together? I already own the dark energy, and have been dieing for a cheap polysynth for ages :)

  • @cazmo222 Yeah - certainly did. Always got massive basses out of the evolver. I did end up selling it, but it was due to ergonomics, not sound - replaced with monomachine.. :)

  • That dark energy sounds great, and looks super, Thinking 'bout buying one of these babies myself.

Keep on making live music, I have a similar setup, not so easy to make it all work!

    Sounds great.

Does the "sound better" samples come from the machine drum?

  • @headinamilkbottle - No - everything is going into the computer and through Ableton - which is also adding the audio loops..

  • ¨great work!

  • Very good sound and rythm!! thumb up!

  • Sweet tunes!

  • @brunkke Tune bud. I am constructing that on the fly.. :)

  • @ProofNZ Not really true, all of that has to be sequenced and programmed out beforehand.

  • @VincentsVideoVisions - little lost, what isn't true?

  • Reminds me slightly of LCD Soundsystem " Im losing my Edge"

  • Weird, for some reason all the related video links in the side column have the word bitch in them... even though it's nowhere in your video's tags/title/etc.. WTF!

    Oh yeah, sounds good..

  • @cartesiaLive I noticed that too! Weird, I can hear the word 'bitch' in the sample being used but YouTube can't be THAT smart surely...

  • @aliceapplepie Their search algorithms seem to have sorted themselves now.. :)
